Nagpur: Coach Greg Chappell has been issued a letter by the Board of Control for Cricket of India asking him for an explanation on why he made the statements against former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly in the Guardian.
BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah issued letter to Greg Chappell and asked him to concentrate on performance of players rather than giving interviews to media, which is unnecessarily creating additional crisis management issue for BCCI.
He has also been instructed for not issuing such versions in future; which are not healthy for the sporting and progressive game of cricket.
For the first time BCCI has played a role in cease firing the whole episode terming the entire development as a similar code of conduct for cricketers and coach.
The letter which is a 'mild-dose' has been administered to Chappell keeping in view his past performance and track record as a cricketer.
Shah felt that with passage of time, this controversy shall come to an end automatically.
