This decision is very absurd on behalf of BCCI putting undue allegations on a person who is atleast trying to justify himselves and on the top apologising for his act. I feel that even Srishanth should have come in between and spoken on Bhaji's behalf. This kind of unjust attitude towards Bhaji is from all aspects unjustifiable and untrue, I feel Mr. Sharad Pawar should also read some more books about being polite with his rules, when he does not even know the word of Cricket. Bhaji should be given an equal right of playing with his teammates and that's it. a big fullstop on these absurd and publuic troubling allegations on him, especially when a human being is apologising for it. No rule can be so strict, do not forget the humanity. Neeru

This is absolutely ridiculous. 5 ODI match ban is all you get when you slap your teammate and more importantly a member of the Indian dressing room. BCCI should understand that by letting Harbhajan off so easily they are setting a wrong example. If what Harbhajan did was shameful, what BCCI is doing is even more.

The BCCI has been unduly harsh on Harbhajan . After punishing him for 11 matches ban in the IPL , they have again banned him for another 5 ODI . For one slap this is outrageous punishment . At the most he should have been banned for 3 matches IPL .

What the BCCI's Chief Justice Sharad Pawar has done now is purely in the enlightened self-interests of his Court (Board) ! He has to give a judgement that appears somewhat fair enough but at the same time, it should not "bite" the Board's/Indian interests .. that's why Bhajji is given a very light punishment of five-match-ban that suits well for India & Dhoni, as the forthcoming Tri-Nation & Asia Cup Matches are all insignifant/inconsequential to be played in Bangladesh & Pakistan, where WITHOUT BHAJJI, Team India will have a sweet cake-walk ! Why, even our U-19 Team can beat them all handsomely .. Hence, Dilip Vengsarkar, NO BIG NAMES FOR THESE TOURNAMENTS: Let them rest at their sweet homes .. The young guys can bring us the Cups & make us all proud !!
This arrogant display of rowdyism on the field calls for a stern action .. Equally, the so-called Coach Lajpat needs to be dumpled in the fair name of Cricket, as his act & gestures were such as to encourage such irresponsible acts. Here's a coach who teaches such wrong-doings .. Less said about him, it's better .. I want to highlight his major lapses and he deserves an equally severe punishment. There're umpteen good, selfless coaches available in India ..

I knew this would be the outcome.Bhajji deserved a very stiff punishment. He is not fit to be in any national team.Suddenly everyone started telling that he should be dealt with leniently. What happened to Rajput who cut a sorry figure clapping the hands in glee as reported in the media.Should he not have been handed out a punishment. All matters in BCCI is opaque ans as in political parties the organisation abidicates power in the hands of the top man though a disciplinary commitee is there for name.

60% criminals are representing our country as 'Honorable Ministers' we the people keep electing them and still judge people like Baji...poor Baji, twice humiliated for his misbehaviour, but speculations are still on.

Banning Bhajji for 5 ODI's amounts that indiscipline will be tolerated by BCCI provided the player is influential. This is very much evident from the fact that this particular player has been let of many a times by the board, in fact it has over stepped the rules by protecting him in the ugly episode in Australia. Had he been trimmed in the bud he would have tamed himself and wound his tail tight. This incident has proved that senior players can misbehave and no action will be taken by BCCI. The exception is here that Mr Sachin, Dravid and Ganguly who are most matured and well disciplined. Mr Jadeja, considered to be one of the best ODI player in the Indian side has been banned for 5 years on the suspicion that he was involved in match fixing row was not revoked even after he was proved not guilty. While this was justified by BCCI how could they be so generous with Harbajhan Singh and let him go with 5 ODI ban. Players like Harbhajan Singh and Sreesanth can only bring shame rather than bringing fame to the country like Md Azaruddin who made the Indians to lower their heads in shame in the International scene for his greed towards money.

Its an excellent example set, well done BCCI. Other countries were watching what action would be taken. BCCI proved that its better then PCB, during Assif-Sohaib spat nothing was done about it.
