New Delhi: Spirou & Fantasio are headed for India. Euro Books, which distributes Tin Tin comics in India, will bring the Belgian duo for the first time in English.
Priced at Rs 199 a book, they're designed to thrill the young and old.
Uday Mathur, MD, Euro Books says, “I think the beauty of this format is that it cuts across age barrier really. We have young kids who like the comic format and then we have people who have grown up on comics and like to look at a longer format and a more adventure and humour kind of story.”
India's graphic books market is valued at Rs 70 to 80 crore.
A third comprises classics such as Tintin and Asterix. But new titles are driving growth of 50 per cent a year. That's an indication our Belgian visitors are here to stay.
