shobana Kudos to this great man at Kolkata Raj Bhavan. Jyoti Basu is being childish in his inability to understand Gandhi. When Commies play a double game with Indian Politics, Basu has no comments to make. CPM kept WB enslaved without any development for so many years and this doesn't appear childish to Basu who is in his second childhood.

Sumit The sharp reaction from entire top-brass of red brigade shows their inability to take criticism in positive spirit.
There are glaring indications of these paranoid people:

1) Entire machinery is speaking out against the governer at once. At how many instances, the CPM govt. tried to address the issue in first place by either putting their distribution in place or by asking central govt (whom they can drive off anywhere) to improve electricity supply for state?

2) How come idea of staying in a bustee, donating large salary to govt. etc. is given out only to governer. Are the CPM govt. people not taking any salary/ benefits from state funds? Given financial status of likes of Jyoti Basu (thanks to small fortune his son has generated) it should not be really a trouble

3 The Idea of abolishing governer's post is most illogical clearly shows maturity levels (or lack thereof) the topbrass of CPM. I believe, they need to go back to study constitution again to understand the federal structure and role of governer. If indeed, it is their plan, they can look for a solution through parliament and not through public forum.

Venkat Great Job. He is not a person waiting for elections. It is not ordinary gimmicks the politicians do. Gandhi still lives.

Comrade Sahadevan The communists always hate people who find fault with them - think of what happened to all the dissidents in Soviet Russia, China, North Korea etc. The Indian communists hate Gopal Gandhi and Mamata Banerjee but thankfully the Communists in India cannot eliminate them or send them to some concentration camps but everybody right from Jothi Basu to the dharwan in CPI(M) office will issue statements denouncing them.

Alok Sukhan CPM is unable to digest anything good. The token switch off by Governor has started alarm bell ringing.
People should not forget, CPM started Blood camps to raise money for Kolaghat power plant. Where are those valuable blood bottles !!

Raj Is he Chief Minister, or cheap minister? What's wrong in consuing less power where there is a demand for more?? Our politicians lacks vision and can only criticise, this what best that they can do!

Sanjeev the governor, starting from the nandigram issue, is playing mamta-led politics to destabilise the west bengal guv....gopal ji is eyeing on the panchayat elections as he feels & of course mamta feels that if cpim gets routed in the panchayat elections then they can invoke article 356 and rig and win the assembly elections with mamta as the chief minister....but these designs won't succeed in bengal becoz of variety of reasons....
but the moot question when will this wastage of state eschequer will stop.....imagine west bengal guv shells out 3.5-4 lacs Rs per month just to illuminate gopal ji's mahal...

subir I ask you Jyoti Basu, why it is childish? To support a good cause, we do so many things or to show solidarity with the the cause, then why in this case itis childish? Don't your party workers with the consent of party bosses burn effigy against somebody or some indident, even when the matter is acceptable by the rest of the workd? You are all hypocrites and opportunistic in nature. Because of Panchayat election, you are scared of actual facts of the government's works being publicised.

vikram I wonder what is it that has annoyed the Left so much.

Mr. Basu says that the Guv should have talked to the Power Minister. Is he trying to say that the power minister needs to be informed of the situation and he was not even aware of it or he is in a position to change things overnight.

To put it simply, the power situation is very critical and the Guv decided to genuinely contribute in his own sweet way unlike these ministers who themselves enjoy all the luxuries of life and the people who gave them votes are punished in vaious ways.

What the Guv did is worth applauding but our minds have become so corrupt that we can easily find something wrong in even good deeds.

I think its high time that we kept our minds and vision open and acknowledge things the way they are.

joe It is not funny. This need to be taken seriously. Communist Party is like a Parasite which works against all organized establishment with only focus on making their leaders King like!! For them all other human beings are worthless. They do not respect anyone and teach all the desciples to become like that and turn the states they rule to become animal kingdom. Same is seen in Bengal & Kerala.
