Ahmedabad: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) appointed Appeals Commissioner Sudhir Nanavati on Friday met Harbhajan Singh and S Sreesanth and recorded their statements on the slapping of the Kerala pacer by the Indian off-spinner after a Mumbai Indian vs Kings XI Punjab Indian Premier League (IPL) match on April 25.

After the hearing Nanavati said he is satisfied with the statements of both Harbhajan and Sreesanth and added that he would not need to cross-examine either player or any more witnesses.

"I am not authorised to forgive anyone. I have got all the answers and I am satisfied by the statements that the two players made. I spoke to Harbhajan for about 11/2 hours and for about 30 minutes with Sreesanth. Both were questioned separately," Nanavati said after the hearing.

Nanavati will submit the final report on Monday to the BCCI president Sharad Pawar and then the BCCI Disciplinary Committee will take action on his recommendations.

Pawar, Shashank Manohar and Chirayu Amin are the members of the Disciplinary Committee and according to sources Harbhajan is likely to be punished as the BCCI wants to set a precedent that such indiscipline would not be tolerated.

Nanavati first met and recorded Harbhajan's statement and then grilled Sreesanth on the issue in Ahmedabad.

Both Harbhajan and Sreesanth arrived in Ahmedabad on Friday morning for the hearing.

BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah and BCCI-appointed lawyers were present in the meeting.

"The report will go to the Disciplinary Committee and it will decide the quantum of punishment. First Harbhajan was questioned and then Sreesanth. It is a serious report," Shah said.

Harbhajan has already been banned for 11 matches of the IPL.

Nanavati had earlier said that he had seen the footage of Harbhajan slapping Sreesanth and it was shocking.
