Bhojpuri music, films to carry message to Raj

That is a line from a song from leading Bhojpuri crooner Chotu Chaila's latest album.
The shooting for the album, titled Chakka Jam is on in Patna, and the singer is oozing with confidence.
It is the controversial theme of the album that he is banking on – the Maratha versus North Indian issue.
“Music is one medium anyone can understand any thing and (through which) many things can be stated. I have used my songs to make Raj Thackeray understand,” said Chotu Chaila.
The songs persuade people from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar to stand up against the violence.
In fact, the entire Bhojpuri entertainment industry is busy milking the issue – apart from music albums, shooting for Bhojpuri films portraying the plight of migrant workers will begin soon.
“We want to tell Raj Thackeray that we are all one in this country. It’s not the way it is in Mumbai – that Mumbai only belongs to them (Maharashtrians) and everyone from other states (are outsiders). The message is that we are one and we shall remain as one,” said director Ravindra.
“The director and the singer, for the first time, are featuring UP-Bihar together and this is being projected to the Mumbaikar,” said choreographer Mannish.
Whether this message reaches out to Raj Thakeray or not, one thing seems certain – it will surely set the cash registers ringing.
