Mumbai: Amar, Amitabh and Mulayam—one would have expected an Anthony too but the trio is complete and doesn’t need any one else to set things in-sync, atleast not for the forthcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.

Bachchan might have vowed never to enter politics, but today the actor—a poster boy for Samajwadi Party—has gone ahead and shot an ad commercial in which he sings praises for the Mulayam rule in Uttar Pradesh.

Bachchan's ad film—already on TV screens comes at a time when Samajwadi Party needs it the most. Perhaps the SP leaders feel, the ad film, a poor saving grace though, may set things right for an otherwise sinking Mulayam clout in Uttar Pradesh.

In the promotional ad film which is about a minute and half long, Amitabh Bachchan has highlighted the achievements of the Samajwadi party government in UP and has showered praises on Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav.

"Uttar Pradesh ki is mitti main parivar ki ath peeriyon ne janm liya. Iska naam roshan Karen. (My ancestors and forefathers were born in the soil of UP, please take pride in this great state)," Bachchan was heard announcing at an election campaign in Lucknow.

In 2001 the actor participated in blood donation camps organized by the Samajwadi Party. Earlier this year Bachchan and UP Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav were seen distributing Rs 500 cheques to unemployed young men in Lucknow.

While Bachchan says, “Amar is like a brother to me,” the SP leader quotes, "Hum unke parivaar ke sadasya jaise hai(I’m like a part of the Bachchan family)."

Bachchan’s close association with Samajwadi Party MP Amar Singh hints at his obvious political interests—something that the actor has denied for long.
