BJP plans ahead, ready for victory celebrations

TWO-HORSE RACE: The main battle in Himachal is between the BJP and the Congress.
Shimla: Himachal Pradesh witnessed a 72.55 per cent voter turnout with as many as 32,75,924 people out of a total electoral roll of 45,44,166 casting their vote.
About 5,000 people backed by electronic engineers have been deputed to count votes at 41 centres across the state.
In the 2003 elections, Congress had won 43 seats and BJP came a distant second winning only 16 seats and losing power. Independents and other parties won nine seats.
According to exit polls as well as intelligence reports the next government in Shimla will be BJP's, with Prem Kumar Dhumal as the chief minister in the 68-member Assembly.
Many Congressmen, though not saying this openly, don't disagree with this in the privacy of their homes.
BJP President Rajnath Singh has repeatedly said his party will win with 2/3rd majority, garnering around 40-45 seats. And so sure is the BJP of doing this that leaders have already chalked out post-victory plans.
Party in-charge of Himachal affairs, Satya Pal Jain, has already declared that the oath-taking ceremony would take place in Shimla on December 30.
