Mumbai: He was the guy responsible for those beautiful frames in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Black and the recently released Saawariya.

Ravi K Chandran sure knows how to make it picture perfect. No wonder that his work is now being featured in the 2008 Kodak International Cinematographer's Calender — a special occasion for sure, because it's the first time an Indian cinematographer's work is featured among different others from across the world.

"Its really an honour to be featured in among the greats. It's actually a play between light," explains Ravi.

Being in the company of lensmen of films like The Kite Runner, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford among many others is just the kind of high Ravi Chandran likes.

But didn't the painstakingly made Saawariya's box office debacle affect him?

"I don't know why the film did not work. Mani Ratnam and people who I respect all loved the film," says he.

And we of course will love to see more of his work. Next up for the cinematographer is Nandita Das's In Such Times and Aamir Khan's Ghajini.
