Varnika Why r ppl sent to jail? Coz they r either considered a threat to the society, so they should be behind bars for the sake of ppl, or to make them better human beings, to teach them that this is not the way to live. Sanjay has already learnt from what he has gone through in these 14 years. A person's social behaviour also counts.

Ppl now say wow justice has been done by the court and some r happy that he has been sent to jail being a celebrity, is a big thing. I repect the law but why the hell have they taken 14 years in punishing him? He should have been punished fully then only. He would have been a free man by now. Ppl like him, respect him, and feel for Sanjay now coz he is a changed man now. Ask ppl whom he has helped and I am not talking about his family and friends but the cancer patients and many others like them. Court should consider this. By saying this I dont mean to say that ok I'll commit a crime tomorrow, later help ppl and ask to lessen my punishment. No. No matter what I do after commiting a crime, I cant be as great, as respected, as loved, as Sanjay Dutt. I am not his fan. I am his well wisher. I am saying this coz I know he has helped and served society in so many ways. He is a pure soul now.

Sanjay is a fighter and he will come out of it as a winner. And like he asked his fans and well wishers to pray for him, while he was taken to the Pune jail. I am praying for him.

Varnika

I dont think its fair to punish him just to set an example. He has done something wrong, fine punish him but like many ppl think by putting him behind the bars will help set an example is not right at all. Law is equal for everyone but the punishment is double when ur a celebrity. ITS A FACT. 6 yrs is way too much for him. Its a harsh punishment. I am totally against it.

He isnt in the jail coz of the Bombay bomb blats now but till few months back he was fighting for the same thing. 14 years back he was punished and sent to jail coz court thought he was involved in the serial bombay blats. Remember he has been release by the TATA court only few months back. He's lived 14 years of his life in trauma. Trauma of being called a terrorist. Ppl didnt call him a terrorist in the face of it but he was considered one in the eyes of the law.

Shailesh Purohit Judiciary system has done good job by giving bold verdict. Sanjay Dutt and family will have hard time to go through this but Sanjay should prove himself by doing good work during Jail and get the concession in punishment.Hope politician and his family member should not meddle with this verdict and make mockery of Judicial system of India. Unfortunately there are other celibrities committed crime but they are free and Sanju babas badluck alwayas with him to get the punishment!

kiran Sanjay has already paid for wat he has done, by lossing his loved ones and serving for jail. i think the law is being harsh on him. there are most dangerous and guilty people outside there, u cnt just point one person. i think people are jealous and they cnt see sanjay happy and having fans around him. i think the judge needs to re-think again as wat he has done is just unbelievable and harsh. he reminds me of slave trade and colonial government when they didnt hve heart of either indians or africans.
he is great guy and i think he deserves to hve second chance to amend his mistakes. and he doesnt deserve jail. people like salman khan they shud go to jail and not sanju.
may god give strength to sanjay and bless him, protect him,and be there for him.

Sam Dhaliwal Judge Kode did a brilliant job.i only feel that 6 years in Jail for Sanjay Dutt is far less than the crime he committed. He should be sentenced to minimum 10years without being released from jail.He was an over confidant man and he thought his father's image could save him.I feel this is a lesson for all other persons who think there parents influence can save them.

I feel the man responsible for this is the former Commissioner of Police,Mr Amarjit Singh Samra, who was instrumental to get Sanjay Dutt arrested in the first place on April 19th,1993.India need more more Police Commissioners like him who are honest to the core.

This is a Great Success for the Police Department and the Judiciary.

Now the Honorable Supreme Court must further enhance this sentence and increase his sentence from 6 years to 10 years.

Then only i feel true justice will be done.

Personally i have no grudge against Sanjay Dutt nor i doubt his kindness but the mistake he made in a long time ago now needs to be rectified. The only solution is his conviction.

S.R..Ayyangar One should not be carried away by the character & dilouges uttered by Sanjay Dutt in films like Munna bhai. He was just doing the role as an actor. He need not be same in real life and this is what exactly happened. Therefore, he should take the punishment to his stride for he has done upteen number of films as police to punish the anti social elements. His act of unlawful possession of arms is one for which HE MUST UNDER GO IMPRISONMENT ACCORDING TO THE LAW OF THE LAND.

priya i had a huge respect for CNN IBN.But now i lost it. why are u giving such support to sanjay dutt, do u mean to say that judge kode was wrong and sanjay dutt was innocent and that the victims of bombay blast didnot suffer anything? I AM SHOCKED WITH UR NEWS COVERAGE....ALL THE NEWS IN UR CHANNEL AND WEBSITE IS ABT HIM. BUT WHY? THERE ARE MANY IMPORTANT ISSUES GOING ON AND WHY ARE YOU SUPPORTING HIM. please remember what our ex president DR. KALAM had told in a debate organised by Indian express. please check this link:http://www.ibnlive.com/news/does-good-journalism-mean-bad-business/45442-3.html. SPECIAL REQUEST TO RAJDEEP: PLEASE STOP SHOWING SYMPATHY TO CRIMINALS INSTEAD SHOW IT AS A LESSON FOR THE STARS AND POLITICANS THAT NO BODY IS ABOVE THE LAW. RAJDEEP PLEASE TAKE INTERVIEWS FROM THE VICTIMS OF BOMBAY BLAST AND NOT FROM THE RELATIVES OF SANJAY DUTT...AND PLEASE DONT SHOW WHAT HE EATS AND WHO IS WITH HIM IN HIS DINNER.....

winnergirl Its truly Insane that people and media are supporting Sanjay Dutt, even though its clear that he was illegally possessing the Deadly hazardous weapons which could, in some way bring disaster to the common man (And it actually brought) . While the same public was too harsh on Amitabh (Who brought Laurels to the nation) for simply possessing a piece of Land to save tax, which everyone Does....The same public was appealing against the decision when Jessica Lal's Murderers were acquitted , and then public was requesting that judgement should not be based on the power and status of the convict. Then why Dutt should be treated differently from others ?When the person who handed the weapons to him and the one who took the weapons from him, both of them have undergone rigorous punishments, then why spare him ? Only because his movies are half undone ? or because his Sister is Pregnant ? or because MunnaBhai Chale America is undone ? or Just becaus ehe is feling Sorry now ? Can his Sorry feeling bring back the lives of the innocent and can it repair th damage caused to their family memebrs ??? Its really rubbish and a Public drama....
Those who have got nothing to do with the bomb blast, can easily say that "Its Too harsh punishment", or "Judge should have had a look at the Loss Bollywood will face", "He has been under immense Mental tension", obviously he had to be in Tension, when he committed the crime. Its a pity that a person who teaches Medical ethics to Doctors, and who preaches the Gandhiji's philosophy to everyone, was supporting terrorist activities, though not directly, but definitely he would have been knowing that these weapons would be used for some Deadly wrong reasons. Infact he should have been given full 10 years Punishment keeping in mind the unconditional loss those guiltless families are facing , who have lost their innocent young family members, for whom he is definitely responsible in some way.

swati why cant ppl understand tht he has been held guilty under the law. can u imagine dons like abu salem visiting his house? he should thk his stars tht he has been let off under TADA... and wht does this mean tht he has suffered enough????? havnt those families who lost their loved ones in the blast sufferring till date? arent all other undertrails also under the same pressure for the past 14 yrs? so should the law let them off too? if he has done something wrong he should pay the price for it... the past and law catches up with you no matter after how many years....how could he ask his friends to destroy evidence? doing some films on gandhigiri does not let him off it...his onscreen good image or even his record as a good citizen in the past few yrs has no legal standing...and if the law provides for 5-10yrs of jail...wht has been harsh in his case???/
