Bomb explodes in Hubli court, no casualty

New Delhi: A low intensity bomb exploded at a court in Hubli on Saturday even as parts of Karnataka were voting.
There was no casualty in the explosion because the judicial first class magistrate court was closed, as it was a holiday due to second Saturday.
Hubli is going to the polls in the third phase on May 22.
The court is trying seven terror suspects belonging to the banned Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI).
Soon after the bomb explosion, police cordoned off the area and engaged explosive experts and sniffer dogs.
Meanwhile, members of Hubli Bar Association staged a protest demanding an inquiry into the explosion.
Police Commissioner of Hubli Narayan Nadamani said the terrorists deliberately chose the election time to trigger the blast.
There is a court hall where the improvised device was kept and set off with a timer. We have combed the entire area. There is only a blast and no injury to any one. We are finding out the chemicals used in the blast. From Bangalore our forensic experts are coming. A banned organisaiton is behind it. They deliberately used the election time to for this blast," Nadamani said.
