Stay Hungry Stay Foolish, this was the first book by Rashmi Bansal that I read. The title was intriguing and when I read the blurb of the book, I was sure that it will be an interesting read and it didn't disappoint me at all. Ever since then, I have been looking forward to her books and have been recommending her books to almost everyone who wants to read something that motivates them.
Entrepreneurs have always got a story to share. Be it a story of their success or failure and most of the times their stories are about survival. All of Rashmi Bansal's books are based on the life of entrepreneurs, how they came up against all odds and have made a name for themselves. Follow Every Rainbow is the latest addition to her books and has hit the right chord for me. I finished reading the book in a single go and felt so good about it that I have already started recommending it to a lot of young entrepreneurs and friends.
Follow Every Rainbow is about the success and inspiring stories of 25 female entrepreneurs categorized under three sections namely Lakshmi, Durga and Saraswati. Under Lakshmi, all the entrepreneurs for who are working with their family are there. Family was their first priority and all of them made sure that they do not have to compromise on their family time, children's education and keeping up with the society. All the 8 stories under this section have a single thing common, the passion to find your true identity in the men's world with the support of your family members and it touches your heart. I loved all the stories in this section and it is extremely tough for me to choose my favourite among all the eight stories.
Under Durga, all the eight stories where the ladies had to fight against all odds to survive have been put up. Inspiring in their own way, the stories under this section also tell you that life is not a fairytale. A simple yet practical approach with sheer dedication and focus can make you achieve anything that you want. Soul Sister, the story of Ela Bhatt who runs SEWA is my favourite story from this section.
Saraswati, the goddess of knowledge, under this section, 9 stories are there and all the female entrepreneurs under this section have one thing in common and that is they are all educated and have carved out an identity for themselves by being an entrepreneur in their respective fields. These women were always focussed and have always kept up with their traditional as well as entrepreneurial roles. Tribal Beat, the story of Neeti Tah and her venture 36 Rang and Hop, Skip, Jump, the story of Namarata Sharma and her venture Krayon Pictures are my favourite stories from this section.
Overall, Follow Every Rainbow is a pleasant read. You would learn many things from this book and the most important thing in that you will learn from these stories is "Perseverance". I strongly recommend this book to all those people who can't take failures and wobble when something goes wrong with their work or venture. Rashmi Bansal has done it again and right. I will keep going back to Follow Every Rainbow, like I do with the other books by her.
