Puducherry: A bridegroom dropped his bride at an examination hall just minutes after they got married, to enable her write her university examinations.

Be-decked in wedding finery and jewellery, Sarasu, a second year BA student at Bharatidasan government college for women, was dropped at the college by husband Satish Kumar at 0930 hrs (IST) on Thursday, soon after the wedding was solemnised at 0900 hrs (IST).

Sarasu was adamant that she should write the exam and conveyed this to her husband, who took her to the exam venue on a motorcycle.

Besides drawing the attention of students, people in large numbers flocked to the college on hearing the news, to get a glimpse of the bride-student.

Satish Kumar, working in a private company, waited outside the college while his wife completed her exam.
