BUSH HECKLED: Bush was telling the crowds about free speech on Independence Day.
New Delhi: Hecklers disrupted President George W Bush as he welcomed new US citizens during an Independence Day naturalisation ceremony.
Paying tribute to the diverse ethnicity, love of liberty and freedom of America, President Bush was addressing an audience of 72 immigrants about to be naturalised when suddenly a chorus of shouts came from the crowd.
"He is a fascist! He has brought fascism to this shore!" said the hecklers.
One protestor even called Bush a war criminal.
Taking the citizenship oath is an annual Independence Day tradition at Monticello, the home of former US president, Thomas Jefferson.
Bush was telling the crowds about free speech, just as Secret Service dragged away one of the hecklers.
