New Delhi: British trance music group Above & Beyond are super excited to perform in India and the band's guitarist and songwriter Tony McGuinness say they would like to try out chicken tikka as the delicacy is quite popular in UK.
Above & Beyond, which consists of three band members Tony, Jono Grant and Paavo Siljamaki, had earlier performed in India during Goa Sunburn festival in 2007 and 2011. The band is returning to India on November 10 for a performance in Bangalore.
"Indian food is incredibly popular in the UK. In fact, 'Chicken Tikka Massala' has been voted the single most popular dish here, more than fish and chips! We are definitely going to taste it here. Moreover, the day after is the start of Diwali so we hope to be able to witness the celebrations in Bangalore," McGuinness told PTI in an e-mail interview.
The concert will see the band joining other international DJs to celebrate Trance Around The World's 450th episode and being organised by Smirnoff, Jack & Jones, MTV and VH1.
McGuinness, 43, says they are highly inspired by the Bollywood music which is a mix of reality, mythology and dance and if given a chance they would like to compose one.
"Indian music confidently blurs the line between reality and fantasy. The vast majority of Hollywood movies (with the notable exception of The Matrix) deal with storytelling in a very serious way, pretending it isn't fantasy.
"But Bollywood sees right through that and puts the illusion right in front of you, mixing reality, mythology and a dance set piece featuring 500 people! We would definitely like to involve in it," he added.
