New Delhi: The entire country is eagerly waiting the launch of the Rs 1-lakh car form Tata Motors stable.

People are speculating about the car's features though some of it is already out. The engine will be at the back and the luggage space in front. But then even this is a lot for a car, which is half the cost of its nearest competitor.

And it would appeal to those who till now have managed with a two-wheeler.

Going by the public reaction, people are really excited about the car.

"Chaar jan to compulsory baithna chahiye. Husband, wife aur do bacche ke liye (It should seat at least four people. Husband, wife and their two children)," a man who had come to the Auto Expo said.

"It will look more like a Maruti Van," another person added.

"I think it is reasonable for everybody. Even the students can now afford a car," a college going student added.

"Mere bete ke pass hai ek Accent. To mein soch raha hoon ki mein bhi le loo. 1 lakh ka to bilkul jamega (My son has an Accent. I was thinking of buying a car and a Rs 1 lakh car is in my budget," an elderly gentleman said.

However, not all were confident that the car would be a runaway success.

Mumbai mein traffic jayada hai. Wo nahi chalegi. Gaon mein chalegi (It won't be a success in Mumbai as there is a lot of traffic. It may succeed in the rural areas)," a Mumbai resident said.
