China bans Sharon Stone for 'bad karma' comment

HARMONY DISRUPTED: Sharon Stone had hinted China's bad karma invited the devastating earthquake.
New Delhi: Hollywood top star Sharon Stone faces boycott in China after she made ‘political’ remarks against the country.
The owner of UME Cineplex, the biggest chain of movie theaters in China, has announced that his theaters shall no longer screen Sharon Stone's films.
This strong reaction comes after the Sharon's had suggested that the devastating earthquake in the country’s Sichuan province, which claimed thousands of lives, could have been the result of ‘bad Chinese karma.
She made this statement in one of her interviews during Cannes Film Festival.
Her remarks invited strong criticism from the Chinese media. The Chairman of the Federation of Hong Kong Filmmakers said actors should not bring personal politics while making comments about a natural disaster.
