Chinkara carcass found at Minister's home

DEER MINISTER: NCP leader Dharmarao Baba Atram says he didn't kill animal.
Mumbai: Maharashtra’s Transport Minister Dharmarao Baba Atram faces a police probe after the carcass of a chinkara, an endangered animal, was found at his house in Panchgani.
A team of eight Forest Department officials found the bones and skin of a chinkara from the house in Khingar near Panchgani in Mahabaleshwar on Friday.
The police have filed a case and arrested a man who was at a party Atram hosted in his Panchgani house. Hunting chinkara or possessing its remains is prohibited under the Wildlife Protection Act.
Atram denied he was involved in hunting and said he was cooperating with the investigation.
Deputy Chief Minister R R Patil on Sunday said the police was investigating the case and Atram won’t be shielded if he is found of any wrongdoing.
