CJI rejects petition that seeks private jet for him

THANKS, BUT NO: CJI K G Balakrishnan has brushed aside a plea that seeks Z-cat security, private jet for him.
New Delhi: The Chief Justice of India on Friday brushed aside a petition that sought several facilities — including a private jet and Z-category security — for him.
Dismissing the plea, Chief K G Balakrishnan said he is satisfied with the security arrangements made as per law so far.
Z-category security is usually provided to those facing serious security threats. Many politicians get this cover.
In rare cases, the service is also extended to others. AIADMK leader J Jayalalithaa reportedly gets Z-plus security.
Last month, Balakrishnan had demanded higher budgetary allocation to set up new courts to combat cases that are pending, saying the present allotment is "grossly inadequate".
