IRREPARABLE LOSS: Sanchit’s father RK Sachdeva says his wife informed him about the incident.
New Delhi: A class XII student was found murdered in his posh Lodhi Colony residence on Friday night.
Eighteen-year-old Sanchit was beaten to death and the house was ransacked leading police to believe robbery could have been the motive.
Sanchit’s mother discovered her son’s body when she came back from work.
My wife informed me of the incident and I rushed home from office. Now it’s for the police to find out what happened,” says Sanchit’s father RK Sachdeva.
Police have sent the body for post mortem but are yet to arrest anyone.
“It was a friendly entry, victim must have known the attackers. No sharp weapon was used in the murder,” says DCP, South, H G Dhariwal.
There has been an alarming spurt in crime in the National Capital Region over the last couple of months. On May 1 alone, five murders were reported in a span of 15 hours.
