basak I have 2 suggestions
1.Let WB govt publish a white paper on Tata motor and Singur
2.Let there be independent intellectuals not leaning to any party(difficult to get) verify the facts.

WB govt has done a laudable job by including the unregistered farmers in the compensation scheme.

more snr Tatas car factory will be automated assembly line production, would require tech savvy workers..the farmers will not get job..there would be a few menial jobs. There is no talk yet of establishing the auto ancilliary industries...Tatas would source those from the already established players located at autohub in UP and Haryana....ironically most of these farmers are sheeduled cast..

more bhaskar chatterjee Firstly, these pesants remained unrecorded because they used to wok in local cpim leaders land.

Secondly, why will one sell small land of less than 2 bighas, when the whole family is based on that. What will he/she will do mere lakh or two? Why some 2000 people forced to sell the land?

Tareque Everybody knows (even though they don’t express it ! ) that only the Left’s are the pro farmer and pro labors party in India till date, rest only doing crocodile tears! Rajnath singh and George Fernandez posing for photo shooting beside Ms. Mamta solely because the last bye elections time Ms. Mamta was quiet close to quiet co called NDA. TDP already left NDA and BJP doesn’t want Ms.Mamta to go as well. That is why all this drama. Rajnath’s has also a hidden agenda that if Tata’s shifts their project from West Bengal to his home state UP. What about RIL’s mega SEZ at Navi Mumbai, Gurgaun & Naida?????? This Mamta who now crying crocodile tears for farmers in her campaign for 2001 assemble election she promise if TMC form the government in WB she will given back all the farm land to land lords, which was distributed to the land less farmer by Left’s for their land reform program! Not a single farmer is doing all these things. This is the collective conspiracy by Naxals, social criminals and enemy of the West Bengal people. But the people of WB are far more educated, mature and intelligent enough that they will throw all those social enemy on to the bay of Bengal. Long Live West Bengal!!!!

more Aam-admi In the first instance, it is wrong on the part of WB govt to accept setting up of a (of all the things on earth!) 1) car manufacturing plant with intl oil prices soaring and not likely to stabilize in the near future and the flimsy indian economy relying on that precious commodity! 2)when there are already a dozen brands at the choice of indian customer starting from low end to mid range to luxury!3) doling out developed fertile agriculture land of 11000 farmers sole livilihood! When one sits down to introspect,it is difficult to understand what is going on around!certainly, some vested interests are putting their interests above the country!
