Indore: The Special Investigation Team of the Haryana Police has arrested two people in connection with the blasts on the Samjhauta Express.

The two have been identified as Puran Singh and Husephi.

Police say the two knew about the blasts and allegedly supplied terrorists with the briefcase that carried the bomb on the train.

The arrests have also made the Indore connection to the blasts clear.

Both Singh and Husephi worked as salesmen at Abhinandan, a store that sells bags and is located in the Kothari market in the heart of Indore.

It was from this shop that the salesmen allegedly supplied the briefcase that contained the bomb.

Police think Singh and Husephi knew about the blasts being planned.

“Husephi and Puran Singh have have been arrested and they will be produced in court tomorrow,” says IG Indore, Rajendra Kumar.

Police tracked the suspects down after Fakruddin, a tailor in Indore identified a briefcase cover as one that was made by him.

Fakruddin also identified the stitching, the cloth used to make the cover and the brand name chosen - Apollo 600.

“I have identified the writing but I don't who those people were,” he says.

Police have also notices against Fayanduddin, the owner of Abhinandan Bag Store and Fakruddin.

They have now been asked to appear before the Haryana Police in Panipat.

Though police have not been able to prove the direct involvement of Singh and Husephi, they are confident that the two were in the know about the conspiracy and were connected to those who triggered the deadly blasts.
