RISING CRIME: Night vigil in the capital has been intensified and the identity of the bikers is being verified.
New Delhi: Capital's newest nightmare, the biker gang reportedly struck again on Friday night.
The gang tried to snatch a bag from a West Delhi resident Trilok Chand, they shot at him and fled. The victim escaped with minor injuries on his right arm. Delhi has seen more than eight shooting incidents in the last 15 days.
Though he is on a hospital bed, but Trilok Chand is thanking his stars.
"They are from the biker gang," claims Trilok.
The biker gang has been blamed for many similar attacks in the Capital in recent days. And as the police fails to arrest the culprits, they appear eager to protect its image by going into the denial mode.
"The attackers were on foot, and not on bikes," says DCP North-West Delhi N S Bundela.
Even top officers claim that all is well in the Capital.
"Heinous crime is down by 8 per cent and IPC crime is down by 12 per cent," says Delhi Police Commissioner Y S Dadwal.
Although night vigil has been intensified and the identity of the bikers is being verified, the fear of another such attack continues in the Capital.
