CPI-M to topple Govt, talks to parties against N-deal

TEST OF STRENGTH: CPI(M) is talking to smaller parties to defeat the ruling coalition in the floor test.
New Delhi: It's not just the UPA leaders trying to win over MPs for the trust vote.
Even the CPI(M) leadership has begun talking to smaller parties to defeat the ruling coalition in the floor test.
CPI(M) General Secretary Prakash Karat has himself spoken to leaders of the Janata Dal (S) and to Omar Abdullah of the National Conference.
The Left leaders have made it clear that they would leave no stone unturned to have the trust vote on the nuclear deal defeated. For that, they would talk to everybody.
"I am in touch with all those parties which are opposing the nuclear deal," Karat said at a press conference on Friday.
The Congress-led Government was reduced to a minority when the CPI-M withdrew support after Prime Minister Manmohan Singh made his intentions of approaching the International Atomic Energy Agency with the Safeguards Agreement clear.
