Bangladesh will look to turn the tide when they take on Sri Lanka in first of the three-ODI series in Mirpur on Monday. The hosts are still winless since their sub-continental rivals began their tour, losing both the Test and Twenty20 series.
Although the two-Test series was more one-sided, with Sri Lanka showing their experience and depth in 1-0 win, T20s were more close, with the visitors winning both the games off the last ball.
Bangladesh will once again depend heavily on the allround exploits of Shakib Al Hasan, who was impressive with both bat and ball in the T20s. Eyes will also be on 21-year-old Anamul Haque, who scored a fifty in the T20s.
Kumar Sangakkara was exceptional in both Tests and T20s and he will like to continue in the same form in the ODIs as well. Lasith Malinga became the most successful bowler in international T20s when he scalped three wickets in the second T20.
The pitch at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur is once again expected to be batsmen friendly, with some assistance to spinners.
