Live updates from day two of the third Test between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh at Galle international stadium.
Bangladesh 1st innings:
End of over 136: Bangladesh 438 for 4 at stumps: it is stumps on Day 3 and the day belonged to Bangladesh completely. Fantastic fight back by Bangladesh led by Ashraful and Mushfiqur Rahim. Ashraful remained not out on 189 and Rahim is batting on 152. They are trailing by 132 runs with six wickets in hand.
End of over 129: Bangladesh 416 for 4: It has been a fascinating performance from Mohammad Ashraful and Mushfiqur Rahim. Angelo Mathews is using his part time bowlers now. Lahiru Thirimanne is introduced into the attack. Ashraful is on 175 and Rahim is on 144.
End of over 125: Bangladesh 394 for 4: Now it is some serious problem for Sri Lanka. Bangladesh are taking the match away from them. Both the batsmen are playing fearlessly and playing well. Ashraful is on 166 and Rahim is on 131.
End of over 121: Bangladesh 376 for 4: Half job done for Bangladesh. Mushfiqur Rahim hits a huge six over bowler Dilshan's head to ensure that Sri Lanka will have to bat again. Brilliant batting display from the duo. Ashraful is batting on 160 and Rahim is on 122. Rahim is getting more and more aggressive.
End of over 118: Bangladesh 359 for 4: Bangladesh are still going strong as Rahim and Ashraful are battling hard. No Sri Lankan bowlers are able to make any impact. Ajantha Mendis and Rangana Herath are not getting any help at all.
End of over 112: Bangladesh 347 for 4: Absolute brilliant batting display from both the batsmen. Rahim and Ashraful set the tone for Bangladesh and now it is only matter of time to save the follow-on. They need just 24 runs to save the follow-on. Rahim played a nice cover drive to reach his hundred and Ashraful reaches 150.
End of over 106: Bangladesh 330 for 4 at tea: Both the batsmen have taken Bangladesh out of danger. Bangladesh are in a comfortable position at tea on Day 3. They need only 41 runs to avoid follow-on. Ashraful is on 143 and Rahim is on 92.
End of over 102: Bangladesh 315 for 4: Bangladesh need just 56 runs to save the follow-on. This pair has done a tremendous job. Sri Lankan captain Mathews has used every bowler and used every possible thing but failed to remove either of these batsmen. He has introduced his part time bowler Tillakaratne Dilshan. Though, Ashraful is looking bit tired.
End of over 97: Bangladesh 310 for 4: Ashraful continues to impress as he is batting on 141. In this innings, he is showing all his class and using all his experiences. Wonderful effort from the short man. Mushfiqur Rahim is a playing great hand and sharing the responsibilities with his partner. Captain showing the way from the front.
End of over 92: Bangladesh 294 for 4: Ashraful and Rahim are playing with lot of confidence. Rahim has played some terrific shots to boost his confidence. He looks in sublime touch. On the other side Mohammad Ashraful is as steady as Rock of Gibraltar.
End of over 88: Bangladesh 277 for 4: This pair is showing the way for Bangladesh. Brilliant batting display from the duo. Mushfiqur played a cover drive last over which showed his class as well as his confidence level at the moment. On the other side, the comeback man of Bangladesh Ashraful is immensely focused and he is looking very determined.
End of over 82: Bangladesh 252 for 4: Ashraful and Rahim are doing well enough to frustrate Sri Lankan bowlers. Ashraful is probably playing best knock of his career. Rahim has notched up his fifty with the help of seven boundaries. Angelo Mathews has introduced himself and he is desperate for a wicket. The pitch looks pretty flat and batting seems very easy.
End of over 77: Bangladesh 233 for 4: Ashraful and Rahim are taking their time to get settled again. Lot depends on this pair since not much batting left after this.
End of over 73: Bangladesh 224 for 4 at lunch: After the initial blows Bangladesh have consolidated again at lunch on Day 3. Ashraful is still going strong and he is batting on 107 and Rahim is on 25. These two have batted with lot confidence and showed some applications. Bangladesh still need 147 runs to avoid follow-on.
End of over 67: Bangladesh 208 for 4: Mohammad Ashraful is leading the way with his brilliant hundred. After 20 innings he reached the three fugure mark. Only half job done though as Bangladesh still need 163 to avoid foolow-on. Mushfiqur Rahim on the other side giving him well support.
End of over 60: Bangladesh 198 for 4: After two loses Bangladesh are in a spot of bother. Captain Mushfiqur Rahim has joined Ashraful and trying to build another partnership. They still need 173 to avoid follow-on. Ashraful is the key man for Bangladesh now and he is batting on 95 and Rahim is on 11.
End of over 54: Bangladesh 177 for 4: After putting up a 100-run partnership Mominul Haque departs. he edged a ball which held its line and Mathews made no mistakes in the slips. Haque scored 55. Mahmudullah follows quickly, as he could not read the line of the ball and got stumped against Rangana Herath. Ashraful looks in splendid touch as he played couple of glorious cover drives and a straight drive. He is batting on 78 and Bangladesh are still trailing by 393 runs.
End of over 49: Bangladesh 155 for 2: Mominul Haque reaches his fifty in style as he hit a fantastic boundary over the bowler's head. Steady knock from the batsman. On the other side, Ashraful is playing the waiting game as he knows he is the one who needs to hold the innings together. Bangladesh look good at the moment.
End of over 44: Bangladesh 141 for 2: Ashraful and Mominul Haque have started cautiously. The ball is not doing much. Eranga and Kulasekara are sharing the ball.
Day 2 summary: Dinesh Chandimal and Lahiru Thirimanne smashed brilliant hundreds on second day. Thirimanne and Chandimal took Sri Lanka to 570 for 4. In reply, Bangladesh have showed good resistance. After losing two wickets, Mohammad Ashraful and Mominul Haque took Bangladesh to 135 for 2 at stumps. Ashraful remained not out on 65 and Haque was on 35.
