Live updates from day one of the first Test between Zimbabwe and Bangladesh played at the Harare Sports Complex.
Zimbabwe 1st Innings:
End of over No. 60, Zimbabwe 121 for 3 (Tea): Good session from Zimbabwe's point of view and the highlight being the fifty by Brendan Taylor. The hosts would like to end the day without further damage done.
End of over No. 57, Zimbabwe 116 for 3: Brendan nudges one to the legside for a single to reach a patient half-century. He had some luck going in the innings but nonetheless an important one and should look for a big one.
End of over No. 40, Zimbabwe 68 for 3: Enamul Haque's probing off-stump and middle-stump line paid off as Masakadza goes to the front foot but gets an edge to the slips where the fielder takes a fumbling catch on the second attempt.
End of over No. 29, Zimbabwe 50 for 2: Hamilton Masakadza (20*) and skipper Brendan Taylor (12*) have brought the much needed stability to the innings, though the repair job is still far from over. Fair to say, Bangladesh take the honours in the opening session of the Test.
End of over No. 15, Zimbabwe 22 for 2: Robiul has struck again. This time he removes debutant Timycen Maruma, who took 46 balls for his 10 runs, lbw. Tony Hill uphelds the appeal, no doubt whatsoever.
Timycen Maruma lbw b Robiul Islam 10 (46)
End of over No. 9, Zimbabwe 14 for 1: Put in to bat, Zimbabwe opener Vusi Sibanda succumbed to the pressure exerted by Bangladesh seamers when he was yorked by Robiul Islam after scoring a painful 5 off 21 balls.
Vusi Sibanda b Robiul Islam 5 (21)
Toss: Bangladesh skipper Mushfiqur Rahim won the toss and decided to bowl on the green strip rolled out at the Harare Sports Complex for the first Test against Zimbabwe, with opening batsman Tamim Iqbal missing out in the playing XI.
Team News: Tamim is reportedly still nursing the thumb fracture he suffered in Sri Lanka. Joining him on the visitors' bench will be Mominul Haque, Shahadat Hossain and Sajidul Islam.
Uncapped Timycen Maruma and Richmond Mutumbani are making their international debut for Zimbabwe.
Zimbabwe: Timycen Maruma, Vusi Sibanda, Hamilton Masakadza, Brendan Taylor (capt/wk), Malcolm Waller, Richmond Mutumbami, Elton Chigumbura, Graeme Cremer, Keegan Meth, Shingi Masakadza, Kyle Jarvis
Bangladesh: Shahriar Nafees, Jahurul Islam, Mohammad Ashraful, Mushfiqur Rehman (capt/wk), Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmudullah, Nasir Hossain, Sohag Gazi, Enamul Haque, Rubel Hossain, Robiul Islam
