Bangladesh 1st innings:
End of over 43: Bangladesh 135 for 2 at stumps: That is it for Day 2. After a solid batting performance from Sri Lanka, Bangladesh have replied well with Mohammad Ashraful still on the crease. Bangladesh are still trailing by 435 runs and lot of good work to be done. Ashraful remained not out at 65 and Mominul Haque is batting on 35.
End of over 40: Bangladesh 121 for 2: A very good partnership is on progress between Ashraful and Mominul Haque. These two have added 56 runs already. Ashraful is batting on 62 and Haque is on 24.
End of over 32: Bangladesh 101 for 2: Ashraful looks in good touch as he raised yet another half-century. Mominul Haque is also getting settled as he is batting on 9. Another partnership is on progress.
End of over 28: Bangladesh 81 for 2: It is drizzling again in Galle, though the match is still going on. Angelo Mathews and Ajantha Mendis are bowling in tandem for Sri Lanka. Ashraful moved on to 44 and Mominul Haque is 2 only.
End of over 24: Bangladesh 65 for 2: The 'go-to-man' for Sri Lanka Ajantha Mendis bowls over Haque. It was a flighted delivery and Haque could not read the line properly and lost his stumps for 13. Mominul Haque joins Ashraful in the middle.
End of over 21: Bangladesh 60 for 1: Haque and Ashraful are going steadily. Both the batsmen have shown good application and fought against the odds and survived so far. Rangana Herath has been introduced by Sri Lanka captain Angelo Mathews sometime back. He is yet to make any impact. Ashraful is on 29 and Haque is batting on 13.
End of over 16: Bangladesh are 45 for 1: Anamul Haque and Ashraful are playing the waiting game, particularly Haque. He is batting on 6 off 41 balls while Ashraful is on 17 with the help of two boundaries. Bangladesh still trail by 525 runs.
End of over 11: Bangladesh 33 for 1: Bangladesh have started off well after tea. they have added 10 runs in 10 overs. Mohammad Ashraful and Anamul Haque are building a partnership.
End of over 9: Bangladesh 23 for 1 at tea: Shaminda Eranga picks up the dangerous Jahurul Islam. Eranga bowled a delivery which was way outside of the off stump and Islam edged it and the wicketkeeper Chandimal did not make any mistake. Great start for Sri Lanka.
End of over 5: Bangladesh 22 for 0: In reply, Bangladesh have started off well. Jahurul Islam and Anamul Haque have opened the innings for Bangladesh. Islam have already hit four boundaries. He is batting on 19 off 23 balls and Haque is on 3.
Sri Lanka 1st innings:
End of over 135: Sri Lanka 570 for 4: Sri Lanka have finally declared their innings. They have put up a huge total on the board. Now, it is up to Bangladesh batsmen to show some guts. Thirimanne remained not out at 155 and Chandimal was not out on 116.
End of over 130: Sri Lanka 545 for 4: Dinesh Chandimal too raised his hundred. It was an awesome knock from the talented batsman. He took his time initially but then blasted the bowlers to every corner. He has hit 11 fours and two sixes so far. On the other side, Thirimanne is inching closer to his 150. Bangladesh are going by the motion now. Sri Lanka have pressed the accelerator hard now.
End of over 126: Sri Lanka are 514 for 4: Thirimanne and Chandimal are going very strongly. They have gone past 500-run mark in no time. In last eight overs they have added 53 runs which is extraordinary in terms of Test cricket. Chandimal in particular is ruthless against the bowlers whereas Thirimanne is holding the innings together. Chandimal is on 85 and Thirimanne is on 136.
End of over 121: Sri Lanka 485 for 4: Good start for Sri Lanka after lunch. 24 runs came from first three overs. Already Dinesh Chandimalhas hit a huge six straight over the bowler's head. Sri lanka are looking to score some quick runs.
End of over 118: Sri Lanka 461 for 4 at lunch: It is lunch on Day 2. another session that belonged to the home side. After Kumar Sangakkara, Thirimanne raised his ton today. Dinesh Chandimal also playing in a glorious way. He notched up his fifty with the help of nine boundaries. Bangladesh got only one wicket so far in the session that of Angelo Mathews.
End of over 113: Sri Lanka 443 for 4: Thirimanne notches up his ton after playing the waiting for so long. On the other side, Chandimal has started playing aggressively. He hit back to back boundaries to Abul Hasan. He also hit couple of fours to Sunny. Exciting staff from Chandimal.
End of over 107: Sri Lanka are 413 for 4: Now, Sri Lanka have accelerated a bit. 23 runs from last five overs. Dinesh chandimal particularly has played some aggressive shots. He already hit four boundaries. He is on 24 and Thirimanne is on 96.
End of over 102: Sri Lanka 390 for 4: Sri Lanka are in no hurry it seems. Both the batsmen are happy to take their own sweet time. Thirimanne is inching closer to his hundred. Chandimal also taking a good amount of time to get settled. Thirimanne is on 88 and Chandimal is on 10.
End of over 97: Sri Lanka 378 for 4: Slow progress so far for Sri Lanka. Thirimanne and Dinesh Chandimal are taking their time and getting settled. Bangladesh bowlers are bowling in a much better line and length that yesterday. Thirimanne is batting on 83 and Chandimal is on 6.
End of over 90: Sri Lanka 371 for 4: Abul Hasan gives Bangladesh the first breakthrough in the morning. He gets rid of the opposition captain Angelo Mathews. Mathews tried to hit the ball to leg-side and the ball was going away from him. a leading edge ends up in a easy catch for the bowler. Soft dismissal. Mathews departs for 27.
End of over 88: Sri Lanka 363 for 3: The match has started bit early since the rain had stopped play yesterday. There were 4.3 overs remaining yesterday. Angelo Mathews and Lahiru Thirimanne have started the proceedings again for Sri Lanka.
Day 1 summary: Sri Lanka had the better of Bangladesh on Day 1, thanks to a brilliant hundred from Kumar Sangakkara. His fantastic 142 put the hosts on top. Dilshan and Thirimanne also made valuable contributions. Thirimanne is batting on 74 and Dilshan got out after scoring 54. Sohag Gazi picked up all the three wickets for Bangladesh.
On second morning, Bangladesh will look to pick up early wickets or this match will go beyond their reach. They need to restrict Sri Lanka under 450 to give some opportunity to their batsmen.
