Tendulkar completes 23 years in international cricket

Ahmedabad: Sachin Tendulkar completed a mammoth 23 years in international cricket on Thursday when he took field on day one of the first Test against England at Ahmedabad.
Tendulkar, who made his international debut against Pakistan on November 15, 1989, in Karachi, now has players of that age playing alongside him. Since that day in 1989, Tendulkar has scored 15533 runs in 190 Tests and 18426 runs in 463 ODIs. En route building that mountain of runs, Tendulkar scored 100 international centuries - 51 in Test cricket and 49 in ODIs.
The government of India recognised Tendulkar's service to the nation and the game of cricket by nominating him to the Rajya Sabha as a Member of Parliament.
