P.S.ATTRI Big Shame on india and all all of indian that even after 57 yrs of independence these caste based oppression has not still decressed. Daily 100s of such incidents takes place and no one takes care of such incidents.

Historically, it was the upper castes, the followers of Manusmiriti, who poured lead in the Dalit ear.

TRUE,HINDUTAV AND BRAHMINSIM IS THE MAIN PROBLEM HERE IN INDIA. REMOVE HINDUTAV AND BRAHMINISM EVERYTHING WILL BE OK....

sisir25 Dalit oppression is a hard reality and a very painful one.The apathy of mainstream media only makes the matter worse for Dalits.Indian media being elitist in approach has always feed the Indain public in a way it thought would make the media popular ,side tracking the real issues.Never was there any attempt by the media to portray the real plight of dalits with facts and figures.Anti-reservation stir only added to the already anti-dalit sentiment. In rural India it is history (Caste system-Manusmriti) and in urban India its politics of opportunity(Reservation and media stirring up the passion) have left Dalits stranded.
With political class intersted only in votes and an otherwise indifferent public only time knows what's in store for Dalits.
Its time media sensitise the general public about dalit issues which will help bring a large section of the Indian population ;the Dalits to mainstream there by strengthening Nation India

Jayesh It is big shame that after 50 Years of independence, the upppercaste indian have not managed to intergrate the lower caste dalits into them self. though the dalits tried very hard the solve the problem by embracing buddism which the entire India should have than done with Dr. Babasaheb we could not have this and various other issues. I pity this upper caste as they have failed to make india shine by not adopting there very own religion of buddhism.
the root cause of the problem is the society based on inequality in the Hindu Religion aspointed out by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar. It high time now for Indian to get over it and adopt a religion which is equal for all as Dr. Babasaheb ambedkar did adopt buddhism. the only solution for a shining India

more Ujwal The fact that it took more than a month for the government to act against those criminals that to in a state like maharashtra itself proves the state of dalits in the country... government was doing its best to stay away from this issue and when the protest and agitation increased ...the CM went to meet the victims just to show the people that he actually cares for them
