New Delhi: Information and Broadcasting Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunshi was taken to a hospital in Raiganj, his constituency in West Bengal, after he complained of chest pain and difficulty in breathing on Sunday.
Dasmunshi, 62, was holding a meeting in Malda when he fell ill and was admitted to Raiganj district hospital in North Dinajpur district. Doctors said he is out of danger.
"Dasmunsi was brought to Raigunj hospital in the afternoon (Sunday). He was suffering from breathlessness. A five-member team of doctors attended on him. He is out of danger now," a hospital official told IANS.
Dasmunshi is likely to be admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi.
