Are we Indian's that immature? Can’t we stand anybody saying anything our beliefs – both religious and others? If that’s the case, we don’t need to call ourselves democracy anymore. Democracy at its core respects conflict of opinions and let them coexist (remember ‘Unity in Diversity’)!
Today, we are a country who cannot stand a difference of opinion by a film director/novelist. Tomorrow (or is it already now), we are a country who cannot stand by the view of a radical (I don’t mean extremist) politician/leader! Because, if we are not receptive and tolerant to different view points, we'll never change. And I guess you'll all agree with me that change is one thing that we definitely are looking forward to!
The only thing that censors board need to be doing is to provide maturity ratings for movies and to ensure that they are strictly adhered to! How many kids watch the ‘A’ rated movies in out theatres today? Why is the government monitoring what India should and should not read, watch and think? Why doesn’t it start governing for a change!?

I totally agree with u VT. These power hunger leaders will never disclose the truth. what was Taj mahal? (Tejo Mahalaya) and Qutub Minar (Krishna Dhwaj). They always try to woo minorities to make their vote bank strong. Shame on these leaders.RSS and BAJRANG DAL are u reading this.

Have any of these people seen the movie "Indiana Jones - The Temple of Doom" or read how Marvel comics portrays our gods and goddesses by any chance?
If these minorities (who are majorities in global terms with billion plus followers each) are subjected to a fraction of the abuse we swallow they would tear their hair out.

Another classic case of minority appeasment by the pseudosecular govt headed by Congress. I live in Australia,a christian country & people here are looking forward to the movie, with no policing by the govt. Wake up Congress....Banning a movie called Da Vinci Code wont get you votes!!!!.....maybe yes???We Indians can make anything possible.

Someone Else
If hindu deities are portrayed on toilet seats or on underwear by western companies and indiacause protests against it then it is freedom of speech which is important. If M F Hussain paints hindu deities or even Mother India in the nude it is artistic expression and to oppose it is fundamentalist and communal. Nevertheless muslims are free to shoot people to protest Danish cartoons and for Christians the government itself acts on their behalf. Our secularists have not double but triple standards. One for hindus, another for muslims and a completely different one for christians.

Does Congress understand that its surrendering to Talibanized Catholic Church?
Are we already under Roman rule?
Its a shameful decision to stop a major block-buster starred by top Movie Stars, based on International Best Seller.
Indian freedom now under attack from Islamic bigots as well as Talibanized Church. What a shame.

Which world are we living? just to appease only minorities.. where was the so called govt people when there were so many movies made on Hindu culture and habits. do they think only 10% of Indians..when the worldwide christians are watching why not Indians. this film had already been allowed by censor board then whats the issue..? then as Kamal Hassan once said "we dont need a censor board"... This is again a rubbish policy of the so called Congress govt which is headed by erstwhile christian lady.

When would the control of government be lifted from what I want to watch as a mode of of entertainment.
Be it Water/Rang de/DaVinchi... who's the government to decide what's good for me? Dont these people do not have any better things to do... like providing infrastructure and security to the ones who voted them to power?

Normal Guy
You dont go about making movies which totally abuse a religion. If there is a contoversial movie made with Hindu Gods in it. It would be banned outright.Christians have been tolerant enough, high time we raise our heads and say enough is enough.I am not saying resort to voilence but stand up for your religion, its the least you can do.The church is not afraid, but is just standing up for its faith.

Your are not a normal guy. You are ABNORMAL.
( Posted by Vikram Thakur on )
Have you seen "Indiana Jones - The Temple of Doom"? I can name many more that are not banned. And you have never been tolerant in your history.
( Posted by Anurag C on )
this is precisely what i call Talibanisation of Christrinity.
( Posted by Kiran on )
I dont believe the film should be banned since that would only seem to lay more crediblity to the stupid claims the film is making but to state that christians in india are hyperactive against the release of the film is an overstatement, everyone has a right to express thier views and beliefs
