We live in a free country where governments act as dictators. What business is it of the government (esp Govt of Goa) to ban a film? Every citizen has a right to see whatever he/she wants. If someone has expressed something in a movie that too is valid under the freedom of expression. Govts have absolutely no right in pushing their whimsical decsions on people. Governments underestimate the intelligence of people. Controverial or not its for people to decide after seeing the movie. And after all its just a movie - a point of view. Not a hard and fast law which needs to be opposed.

I wonder why this decision, they did not stop the Novel. But now Catholic Churches are protesting this film which is mere fiction book by Mr.DanBrown. And it conveys no message and i would like to add that it is a tame Novel with lot of Twists and Turns that's all nothing else. And this is one more event in the profile of UPA Government of Minority Appeasement for votes nothing else. Tell the Catholic Churches first to stop Conversion in North-East.

A P Jobe
As a christian, I am totally ashamed by the action and protests of a some fundementalists in the Church. Why they have to be afraid of a movie? Are we so weak in faith? Or is the Church really covering-up something? Why isnt there no protest in a Catholic devine center in S.India where girls are raped and murdered mysteriously or even in hyderabad based seminaries where paedophile cases are never reported? And we protest against the FREEDOM of expression. I bow my head in shame. My ancestors should have never done the mistake of converting to an intolerant faith.

Mr Jobe, you can undo the mistake of your ancestors and reconvert to Hinduism.

Please see the double standards of the so called secular parties. When people agitated for 'WATER' movie. Everybody made a big fuss. Now where are the so called Secular parties when it comes to 'DA VINCI CODE'. If it is CHRISTIANS or MUSLIMS, they have one standard, if it is HINDU, they have another stand. Dump these Pseudo secular parties.

Horrible horrible decision. Americans, Europeans are laughing at Indians today.
But Congress must be congratulated for exposing Secularism in India. Psuedos are deliberately formenting this, rallying people religiously for vote.
Don't we have any Christian left in India who can oppose this decision?
People like Pritish Nandy, Ashis Nandy (from a distinguished Xtian family) should blast this Govt and rescue Indian Xtians from becoming Talibanised.
Its a shame for Church, Indian Xtians leaders, political parties.

Govt has gone nuts. God bless Us... just wondering, who voted Congress & Communists to power, may be fools like me, who never votes.
( Posted: Tuesday , May 16, 2006 at 19:37 )
It is people like you who do not vote that help the wretched come to power by decreasing the number of votes that should go to nationalists.

All politicians are the same. If we don't have a choice, whom should we vote for?
