having read the novel i feel that it targets the very foundation of chriatianity.. so i believe the final verdict should be given by the religious heads of the country rather than some stupid minister who is driven by the sole motive of maintaining a substantial vote bank..
but it beats my senses that such hue and cry be created on the release of a movie.. i believe a novel running over a several hundred pages conveys a theme as heavy as this more effectively than a movie spanning over a few hours.. so y wasnt there a protest against the launch of the book itself..as it is thanx to the media people have the gist of the story so better let them have the whole thing and let them deciude for themselves what to believe and what not to.. "incomplete knowledge is often more hazardous than ignorance".
but my personal view is that the novel is a masterpiece and if the movie is even half as good as the novel, it is a must see..

Biranchi Narayan Acharya.
Some films though cater knowledge but all films are purely for one’s enjoyment. But enjoying at the cost of any community’s displeasure is definitely not the real enjoyment. It is like mocking to the belief of one’s community & not a civilized symptom at all.
The protest against such films always fetches an adverse result as the human psychology has got a typical syndrome not to let the controversial things missed by them. Therefore with the protests on the government should ban this film & also formulate a system where before making such films based on religions should be cleared from the religious authorities thus avoiding this type of controversy

Dear IBNlive,
India is a democratic country each and every one hane ther rights to express ther views. If it hurts the christian sentiment means few years back some movie named "Fire",hurted our hindu sentiments for that indian governmenta and I&B ministry freedom of speech and massmedia. we cannot do anything on this issue now what happened to that freedom? As a democratic country everyone has ther rights to express his/her views. so, no one has rights to stop it. so movie has to be realesed and let the people decide it is true or fake story. people are clear and they are quite intelligent in taking decisions. so let us decide wat to do and not. my point is that I&B should stop the release of movie. jagan

I dont understand why All christian missionary is stopping the screening of film which is based on a fiction story. Why they are feeling guilt when its mentioned that its a fiction. And if at all they dont want people to see or follow what fiction says then they are too late as many programs like Secret Bible week and all already aired in discovery channel and others. When no stop for that why for film.. and when there was no ban for Book which most of us already read then why on film.

This is a problem creating by the same people who gievn poison to Galilio when he invented the truth that Erath is round .we can see the same orthodox ,ridiculous people who is raising their sound against art ,culture ,and science in past also. peoples who fears about anything means something wrong with them or they are going to lose when the trueth unviels.

i dunno why we r all so scared to debate on religion or god it doesnt matter if da vinci code ws a mere fiction or inferences drawn from facts which the author had unearthed. any religion or any god we follow or worship today has deteorated and deviated from their original form on which they were found. what we need is not a blind belief in wht ever we r told. we should all thnk rationally analyse for ourselves wht is true and wht is not. and now abt the movie i didnt really like the book tht much it was not realy a great story the only thing tht keeps u glued is the conspiracy theory tht is woven in to it and not the narrative most of the plots a were predictable and banal and i dont think the movie is goin to be tht great and io dont think ill be seein it but i hope it gets released

This act would bring more curiosity among the people of our country. I don’t think there is nation wide support for banning the movie. Some body quoted that Christ was sold for only 30 pieces of silver, but the truth was Christ made him (Judah) to do this.

No way, the film should not be banned. Let the decision be left to the viewers. I clearly oppose towards the ban of this movie. I do not think that the Christianity religion is so weak to accept what all shown in the movie is the truth. It really has a vast and decades of culture in its name. This, in no way, will affect its culture or tradition.
