Louis D'Souza Da Vinci Code is one more film, (several such films will come and go) but Jesus Christ is not one more God.( He will be there till the end of this World)

sunil Such a big irony that a 'Davinci code' that diabolically attacks the roots of a faith gets past censors while a harmless Hindi movie 'Fanaa' is unofficially banned in Gujarat.

And why?just bcos amir khan exercised his fundamental right of freedom of expression.I want to know where are the proponents of free speech now hiding?is it that they fear modidom too much(remember a certain dissident named haren pandya)?

P. Mohan The novel itself is trash. It is purely based on conjectures and worst of all on anagrams cooked up by Dan Brown. Any crossword puzzle solver will die laughing if he reads the novel. The only code imagined by Brown is the V sign between Jesus and Mary Magdelene in THE LAST SUPPER by Da Vinci and the theory that it was Mary and not Paul beside Jesus in the painting. If Brown's research was good enough he would have located the Holy Grail ! No, his entire premise is based on the marital status of Jesus and the code according to him is the V sign and the Holy Grail is nothing but the progeny and descendants of Jesus. According to Brown, Jesus could not have remained a bachelor since all jews were expected to be married ! On this thin shred of common practice and tradition, Jesus is a married man! Then why shd the Church try to hide the marital status of Jesus if it was required for Jewish boys to be married ? Coz its just crap , the film shd b banned.

Harshal What is wrong with Jesus Having a family and a wife and a child?????? I wouldn't love him any less because of this. He is still the son of god to me and will always be. The book or the movie is against Jesus, he is and always be great like all other religious icons.

shashi I don't how many of you have read the book "Da Vinci Code", I read it. For a christian believer the book is quite upsetting and disturbing and for a weaker christian the book might be a misguiding threat. Dan Brown's, Da Vinci code, has not become the best seller because the book is greatly written or the plot is great, it is only the controversial topic that has made it a best seller.
Now I don't know how Ron Howard made the movie either, but I am sure it cannot be better than the book itself.
As I said for Christians it is quite upsetting, but for non-christians they would hardly understand what is the fuss all about. For non-christians the book or the movie wouldn't provoke much of an interest, except because of the publicity it has got.
The Jesus part of the story of "Da Vinci Code" has already been proven wrong after the book has been released and people have researched and questioned on it; some of the TV channels have shown it and it is available in some web-sites.
Dan Brown wanted to and made good money on the book and sure Ron Howard would make good money on the movie, because that's their only aim.

godwin Since religion is based on belief, there is no material rationality inside it. So hurting belief, at times, affects the believers. If an event is there which reforms any religious system has to be promoted, but attackng just for the sake of some wild imagination is not advisable. So better to avoid any events leading to a tension of minds especially in a country like India where religious events are seen in a heavily communal way. So, it would be better if the film could be relased with lot of midifications and if not ban it.

Rajesh Pillai If the catholics are outraged at Da Vinci Code, what about the Jewish minority in India who had to bear with "The Passion of the Christ". No body said about banning the movie for its horrible scenes. Also if the whole world is ready to watch the movie and then criticise (including the champions of fundamentalist Christianity, the US), why so much scuffle in a secular country. Let people who want to see the movie, watch it. Religions must be ready to accept that as times change, the falsehoods they had used to survive in the past may have to be changed.

more Stancy Movies n Books like Da Vinci and many others(i dnt wana mention names)will come and go but the TRUTH STILL REMAINS..If Jesus was a trickster,he surely deserves an OSCAR....History(for eg yr 2006) cries aloud of the only man named Jesus who conquered the world through his message of LOVE..he died for the sins of humankind and did arose from grave as evidence shows. His ascension gives us liberty to live and also a HOPE to live LIFE TO ITS FULLEST;0)...LETS not major on MINORS !! ..His messge of LOVE is so cool that he tells us to love our ENEMIES...Thats one main reason Christians play it cool...Try making a movie or even talkin about Muhammad or Krishna or any other person of importance in front of its followers negaively and see the consequence..Take care folks n God bless

james Hello as an NRI i think movie should not be banned.Though it may be harmful to some facts of religion but the art of movie is more important then the actual facts.Even Rome-vetican or other christian countries have not banned the movie. And facts are not changed by movies one should not forget our beliefs just by such incidents.
