That was the interview of life time for you i guess. You do not deserve to be at that post. A minister who cannot defend what he is saying is worth scrap. Every one make decesions in life which are going to affect him personally based on some facts. Our HRD minister is making decesions which will effect more than 70% of the students of this country based on an excuse that "Parliament has approved it". This is as rediculous as it can get. Why wont parliament approve the bill. Every party is loking for vote bank. And in any case sons and daughters of our beloved politicians have more than enough money to study abroad, so why do they care. Dear HRD minister, i just hope students are not too inspired by the latest hit movie on social change.
My well wishes for our "Commited and dedicated member of parlaiment"

Does Arjunsingh deserve to be HR minister? The way he approached the interview, I do not think anyone approaches the interview. The fact is that despite fifty years of independence, we are still not independent. First Britishers ruled and now the politicians. If one looks at the data, the reservations that had been implemented earlier was total waste. Nothing can be achieved by making reservations. You are making the caste or the person paralytic and dependent on other. Its the survival of the fittest principle that will work for the country. If India does have to achieve the status of developed nation and really start competing with the developed nations, we need to stop making the reservations. The politicians are just wasting their and others time by cropping with these useless issues. With such kind of decisions, we are not moving forward but taking two steps back. I think that the time has come for the real citizens of India to come forward and fight for the independence. Lets free the country and make a real march towards the path of progress. One more fact that I would like to add is that I am currently covered under OBC caste. JAI HIND, JAI MAHARASHTRA.

At least our leaders should have the tactfulness to divert our attention to something else such as Let, JeM etc I however feel that this bunch of politicians is deadlier than terrorists who at least kill U in moments, and not in generations.

The issue is not about reservation but of equal opportunity. We have not aceived the desired results with the existing reservation policy so what will we achieve after increasing the quota is a big question mark. Instead of spending so much time in increasing the quota, the government should instead spend on increasing the infrastructure for underpriviledged sections. In my view, this reservation is all nonsense. Then why not have this even in the Armed Forces.

Arjun singh must need to change his ideas bcoz surely this is only for the votes. If this act does not shows his loyality for country infact loyality for his chair only.Pandit nehru of congress was also against reservations. If students have talent then they can get seats and reservation should based on economic condition of student not their caste. If arjun singh still not understanding then it might be case of Rang De Basanti.

There are interviews and skill tests required for an admission into a Nursery school. To get any job in India, you have to undergo different kinds of technical tests and knowledge tests. IT industry has lot of tests like Logical reasoning and technical tests to give a job even to the trainee post.
Unfortunately, there are NO tests to get the job of a Minister to head the HRD ministry. This interview by Karan Thappar is an excellent proof which shows how Dumb people can reach one of the highest job in India. Some people call it Democracy.

You are right. Most our politicians are passed their examinations like Munnabhai. Shahabuddin is the latest example!

Arjun singh with his rediculous replies in this interview proves what an idiot, abysmally senseless person he is. He keeps saying that decision has been made by parliament as whole ( does it mean that he does not support this decision?? ). Also even parliament is answerable to indian citizens about the decision it makes and rational behind them, they cant just force their decisions (which only seem to suit their party interest) on us.

If Arjun singh has a lilltle bit of shame left in him he should resign after being exposed by Karan thapar. This is better than sting operations he is admitting his selfish and dumbness.Unfortunately Ma nmohan singh cannot sack him because of political compusions.

I feel deprived being born as an Indian. Such dumb head ed people are being made ministers these days. Gone are the days when we had great visinaries leading the country. Now the reins of the country are int he hands of foolish pawns of power. This way I can't see India become a super power. India used to be known as the mother of the world, now I can see that the future of India is doomed. Its worse than being ruled by Saddam ! There is no future for students in India. Brain drain is better than staying in India.

This interview by Karan Thapar- would unfortunately remain a mere piece of Interesting Read and Entertainment. Unless all of us- Including myself do something about this. The question is what?
