If the govt can increase the number of seats in the educational institutions to implement the UPA's vote bank resservation, can they do the same with the job sector also? Can they inctrease the number of jobs so that the people with merit are not left out and are not forced to go abroad for a career? This means that they are creating some dummy placeholders for the so called reserved castes to get their votes. In effect, they are discriminating them by creating some dummy/extra seats everywhere inorder to make them happy today... Spoon feeding this way will meke them still weaker in the long run -> 'coz by birth they are holding a banner as 'reserved'!

Politicians are dividing people based on caste. The immediate benifit for them is the votes! Implementing this, they are going to put the whole country in trouble in the long run. Why can't one consider only the financial status of an individual as the basis for reservation? Having reservation in education, why do we need reservation in jobs also?

It is indeed a pathetic projection of our leadership, the way Arjun Singh has responded to some straight questions. Not to forget the very intent behind the reservation politics. It is shameful to note that while all other countries are looking forward and trying to break away from age old shackles, our nation wants to move forward wearing an additional shackle to the already existing ones.
It was a shocking statement when a foreigner boss within my organisation asked his brilliant but junior Indian colleague if he gol his degree from a reserved seat. Shameful!!
Mr. Arjun Singh, if you do not know anything related to the portfolio you are handling and if you are not willing to accept the facts which are available in the public domain, you should better step down from your position.

Winners of elections ought to be made to go through a series of examinations successfully before they are made Members of the Parliament. Maybe that way, interviews such as these might become more than just "How?" - "I don't know" and "Why?" - "'Coz we said so"

Let the reservation start from P.M.office and parliment and let these sitting MPS vacate the place and cleanse it.

India must be the only country in the world, where people fight to be called backward

Arjun Singh has no idea what so ever is going on in this country. He doesn’t know any thing, which is quiet clear from the interview. And something which is quite clear with the people is that he just wants to increase his popularity and win election next time.

If a Union minister of the Government of India doesn't want to abt the policies the government is goin to implement, then to whom else can the people approach ??? why is the government maintaing a viel of secrecy on an highly emotive issue such as this? its a pity that Dr. Manmohan Singh has such colleagues in his cabinet.

It's shame on india to go after reservations after 58yrs of independence. It's absolutely a vote bank politics, for which the meritorious students have to suffer. Old man can not realise the issue in that extent as they havn't faced the difficulty in getting a job or a seat in the premier institutes. May god bless UPA and specifically congress.
