gaurav tyagi let me begin with "iam not against reservations even though i know it hits the upper caste". but i totally agree with mr. thapar that it should be one or 2 times per family tree.
Mr. HRD Minister you seem to be the biggest mistake made in the entire history of independent india. you sound like an illiterate person who just does not want to go by reality and statistics. you look so less informed. atleast hire some good people who can atleast brief you about facts. I hope the people around you are not a result of reservation. it is shocking that you are not aware of anything in the country leave aside earth. Mr. HRD MINISTER dont just brush aside by saying "parliament decision" . who makes the parliament? the elected representatives. you dont want india to prosper because if it becomes mordernised people would start questioning you for your deeds.

Abhishek Very good interview. Kudos for that. I would really like to hear from some of the so-called backward caste people and know what kind of views they hold regd the issue. Somebody back home should do a survey or news item about this. We NRIs would like to know how many among them are atleast sensitive to the repercussions of this move. Cuz if they are not, God help our country!

bhargav when it comes to entitling indian politics i think the adj. dirty falls sort! the people rule in india not becouse they know the community better but its their wealth and power which they cummulatively gather as promoted in politics.experience and knowledge are not the qualifications needed in politics but dirtygames and sugar coated speech is prime portfolio.
i would say reading this interview that person who is responsible for taking decision for a important part of indian population has fallen sort in validating his or their own decision. the need was never analysed and data for banificieries are also not clear. every time telling parliament as prime governing body says he was hiding his intentions. if this decision comes to ground alive i would say would put india to fall far behind as qualified and skilled will always find their ways overseas and then remaining future will be poor reservation people. politicians fly world around from people's fund but they go for a trip never they learned from other developed countries about ending this scenario of raservation.india really needs youth in politics hope they dont introduce reservation there

Anaita this is just preposterous. nice interview though..brings out the bumbling, inadequate and backward side of Arjun Singh.

Rajni I think they themselves don't know what they all had pointed out and what actually they want, its not about just the reservations only but by implementing or taking this into consideration they are creating the discriminating factor between the common people which will have a major impact on all of us....and they should understand a simple thing that competition should be fair, let the people fight themselves for there education....if they really want to help any particular class there are many ways to help them out not just the reservations.....

And most important thing i think all the politicians need basic classes to understand the need of a common man....

As we have given the right to choose our govt. through voting, in the same way we can also have votings on the major decisions that our govt. take on our account like now they are taking for RESERVATIONS....we should also be a part of all these major decision whether it's regarding to reservation or any other issue....

dramrish By reading an article i felt mr arjunsingh behaved irresponsibly as a minister,a politician with a pinch of hypocracy, with his two eyes pointing towards UP and plarliamentary elections and to beat other parties in next coming elections.he pretends doing all at the behest of parliament but actually it is a political decision. It seems they are against javaharlal nehru our beloved late prime minister the founder of congress.actually PM should intervene to curb the last desire of getting the PM ship of mr arjunsingh

more Rakesh Kumar Somehow earlier I had an impression that Mr. Arjun Singh is well-educated, well-informed, principled, and wants to move country forward. This interview really has educated me that he is dumb, illiterate, arrogant, power-seeker, and having no respect for people of India.

But, it is not his problem.....But, the problem of people who have choosen him to be there.

V.K.Mishra The apathetic attitude of the Government & silence of our leaders including the barbaric attack of police on medicos speaks that Indian leadership is still under the infulence of British Raj. Our problem is that we have to fight with our own people to get justice which is quite different from that of pre indepence era.I request all to meet our local representatives be it a corporator,MLA or MP to speak either for or against reservation so that they can be quoted at least at the time of next election & we can threat them about their boycott. We need a fresh breed of people like Chandrshekhar who can lead a party to make India a real secular state with single motto of making it a super power.
