Our HRD Minister has proved again that our politicians are statesmen without rational thinking.

ARjun SIngh is a liar, and so are all the current politicians. Its all a vote bank gimmick. They sure want to see India go down the drain and again be ruled by someone. Is Arjun Singh and OBC?

Except SC/ST all the others should be considered as General categories. Now illiterate rate in India is very less, so if at all if we have to consider quota it should based on their place of education and parents education not based on any other classes.

The program hs rightly called Devil's Advocate - the devil in the UPA governement's mind in the form of reservation got thoroughly exposed. Not a single question got answered. I can only imagine the plight of Karan thapar - inspite of asking so many pin point questions with complete backup of stats - he did not get a proper answer. The sheer number of comments (almost 99.9% lamenting the decision of the union government) on this programme has crossed 2500. (Perhaps the highest ever received by any news channel website) A good indicator about the strong sentiments of the people of the country against any form of reservation.

I should say there should be a reservation on the basis of caste/economic status. In my opinion, The people of SC/ST/OBC still they are backword. Very few percentage only they are up. If there is no reservation for them they can not come up. What brain of OC/FC has same brain only for them however they are mentally depressed in somany ways. Still most of the people of them having a inferiority complex/less awarneness about the world. To bring them 50 years is not enough. If it is a development in those 50 years then Govt. can stop but still they are not developed. I strongly say there should be a reservation in educational institutions/job (private and public). I strongly support to current government decision. If BJP govt. is there also they should support for their development.
What FC/OC people can do samething they can also do however they are depressed in several ways.
Thanking you

I am completely against reservations in the Higher educations. Lets have scholarships and reservatons in the school education and prepare everyone for the higher education and then the best of the best be there in the Professional Institutions. We can help elevate the backward classes by giving then stipends and scholarships, once they have got into the higher education colleges. Even after 50 years of independence we asta crying about giving reservations. By this time the casteism should have been eradicated. Its a pity that at this golden era of economic boom in our country, we are makeing a hue and cry to extend reservations to OBC's and SC/ST's

Mr.M.Moses,
Thanks for your comment. It is because of people like you that India is not progressing over the years! Not just the Congress, if it were any other party in power, they would probably done the same thing. We Indians don't deserve democracy. It's us who elect the government, who in turn eat our heads. We deserve a good dictator. Even Mr.President, on whom we had lot of hopes, has failed to show his sensibility.
Reservations is not going to solve the problem. It is going to aggrevate the sense of "inequality" among the Indians, which might in the long run lead to a civil war.
Looking at the insecure future of our next generation, people like us would now seriously consider going out of the country (US, Australia, Canada, UK, Europe) and settle there. I personally feel extremely helpless and sad for the country and it's committed citizens.
Best regards, Saumyo.

It is pathetic to see the state of our governance. I am sure in future most educated persons will boycott elections as despite electing a seemingly forward looking government all that matters is teh captive vote banks. The country should not be surprised to see a sharp drop in teh quality of professionals and a more severe case of brain drain. The OBCs are going to be ignored despite all teh reservations. The seats will remain vacant and teh non OBC's will go hungry. But thats okay,, because they are teh upper caste right????????????
Even patriotic people who have chosen a lowerpaying career in India will now be more inclined to move out from this pathetic politicallly motivated situation.

He's mistaken to call himself and his so CALLED CABINET members SUPREME AUTHORITY. 'coz they are only supreme if we want them to be or else they are nothing but common people.. Have they forgotten what the constitution: "It is BY THE PEOPLE FOR THE PEOPLE OF THE PEOPLE..' If yes then lets remind them of the fact. "WE CAN MAKE THE DIFFERENCE AND EFFORTS MADE FOR THE RIGHT CAUSE NEVER GO WASTE"..

this interview clearly reflects that there are no reliable facts and studies done about the reservations, there has not been any study as to the need and percentage of reservations required and that this is just a political agenda which the govt is trying to impose for its own benefit. arjun singh has avoided all the questions put to him. I think this govt is showing a callous and selfish attitidue to the very people who elected them. the sad thing about our system is that once we elect someone to comeinto the govt, nothing can be done by the common man to oppose their wrong doings. the politicians are safe if they keep more than 50% of the MPs happy. there has to be a way of throwing the govt out if they harm the people. the only solution i can think is FOR THE PRESIDENT TO IMPOSE AN EMERGENCY IN THE COUNTRY..!!
