As the debate over the reservations for the OBCs divides the country, Karan Thapar asks Human Resource Development Arjun Singh - What are the government's real intentions? Read The Article
Truning Bright India into a dark India. Thank you much Mr/Ms.Politicians. It makes logical sense if economically backward people are given assistance on financial terms. The full reservation thing is utter nonsense. Scrape it & go forward. Stick to the reservations & see the good brains of India move out of India. Guys who are so keen on reservations may pls get compulsary medical treatement from Quota condidates. Say not reservations, say no to caste distinction & yes to growth & economic support to Financially backward people. Econimic support covers more people & only the right guys come in. Bring Glory to India

Great to have ministers like this. Sorry friends, I think no use for us to fight against reservations, let join together to fight for reservation quota for OCs also. I know this is 100% election gimic played by congress.Till now I balmed all my software engineer mates because of leaving india,I think Tommorrow I need to leave india for sake of my children. What ever it may be our great PM don't have enough time to meet suffering doctors.

The distance between the government and the people is increasing like the distance between the rich and the poor. The government that was elected for and by the people(less than 50% of the Indian population), never understands the needs of the people. Day by day the fools are ruling the educated and they(fools) want it that way in the future. I mean no offence to the OBC's or whomsoever. Why blame the Honable Minister, who donsnt know the pros and cons of his act, but a slave in protecting his Empire Party at any cost. I wonder if there's any country that encourages the Reservation System. India, so called a Secular State, then the Politicians why do they recognise a religion and cause Religional Discrimination and root the hatred among religions. Please let me remind the Politicians that they can atmost live for 100years then why do you(politicians) want to distroy the future of Young India just for the sake of earning(I say eating) more money. Finally I say if theres's to be some kind of reservation then let it be on the basis of Poverty. Otherwise if the Government is still deaf and blind with the people, let us PRIVATISE the GOVERNMENT.

I wonder how Karan managed to have so much patience to stay on his questions. Arjun Singh had come completely unprepared and answered like a stubborn adamant person. It is sad that politicians say and do just anything to get votes and get away with it! Caste based reservations are good for no one. They are useful at the school level for students who cannot afford education, not at a level where every applicant's future depends on the admission. Every wasted/empty reserved college seat wastes an able student's career. At post graduate level it is called spoonfeeding and it has to stop at some point, or else the deserving students will go away to study abroad and stay there.

Dear Friends, Is it possible for MP's to allow 50% quota in the cabinet?
And what the uneducated/immoral leaders understand the pain of competition.
Govt dividing the country on the basis of CAST, They are telling he is a Brahmin and he is a OBC.

By this Article it is clearly showing that The government just wanted to get the political benefit by extending reservations to OBC. Govt. don't have clear idea (Technically) about why they are extending the reservations. The minister just said "I Don't Know" for most of the questions, which are related to statistics.
He is just saying that it was the decision made by the parliament. I am asking " Is he not the member of parliament?' If yes, then why don't he and his party accepted it? ( If they don't like it)
Completely This is a Ploitical Drama. Actually They (Govt.) wanted to get political benefit, But The situation gone against them and now they are in unescapable situation.

It is very clear from the interview that the Honourable HRD minister knows nothing about how much OBCs constitute the Indian population nor does he have any idea how this reservation policy is going to affect the students in general categories. He has no concern about the infrastructure that is currently there and how much more is needed to accomodate the present formula.
All Mr Arjun Singh can say is that everything will be decided by Parliament. It is ridiculous that he as HRD minister does not have facts and figures of the very policy he is trying to implement. He is also not ready to listen or consider any alternative formula regarding this subject. As always, Karan Thappar has done an excellent job in exposing Mr Singh.
