As the debate over the reservations for the OBCs divides the country, Karan Thapar asks Human Resource Development Arjun Singh - What are the government's real intentions? Read The Article
Such a sad state of affairs our country is in ... We place our lives and that of our progeny in the hands of those who lack foresight and also logic ... for I see no basis in the current judgement which resulted from a seemingly daring yet utterly shameful political stunt to woo voters who themselves are in the aura that reservations are not means to uplift the downtred but as a Birthright!! For God's sake ...when will people ever learn.
I am extremely happy that this blasphemous act has brought the oppressed people of India together. Never before have people joined hands to fight the idiotic judgement of the Government. I fully support our countrymen as I join the protests tomorrow.

notice whe asked abt d delay in meetin d students Mr. Arjun replied tht they were all busy with elections.! these politicians don't rate their people above elections, they don't think highly enough of the youth 2day to come out to them, console them & atleast give thm another 1 of their famous false promises to try n change d reservation quota. thy always encourage the "youth" of 2day to make a mark for themselves in the world and help india develop, how much exactly will u develop by bringing in 50% quota of which around 30% will go empty? the next thing we'll c is young students gettin false OBC certificates 2 get admission & the overall quality of edu. going down,y exctly we elected these people i'm still not sure.
the only reason from the govts side 2 take this decision i suppose was to get an assured vote bank from the OBC or maybe some revenge factor, whatever the case a lot of life's and careers are at stake at this moment, and i guess we can take some pointeers from "RDB" , maybe not so extreme but at least standing up for our own rights. P.S: i'm not agains quotas for OBS, but theres a threshold limit for everything and its best done within that.. no hard feelings...!

i think that arjun singh doesnt hav the right to be a minister. i hav never seen as stupid person as him in my whole life . he doesnt know what is he saying? he doesnt know about the facts, about vacant seats, about even university seats. then how can he give this proposel on reservations. these kind of people are responsible for the hatred and disrespact and anger among the people of the country.these kind of people wanna divide us youths nad wanna rule the country. we will have to stop such people. i want to appeal to all indians that please wake up and dont let these people do such crimes. right now only central govn students are striking but now all people from general category and those from other castes who think that this is not the right way out should come down to the streets o stop such injustice.its our country and this our right to be treated equally. if we dont do it now then we are gonna resent and been left out. i want to appeal to our brothers and sisteres from obcs and sc st castes that please try to understand the intentions of these politicians and stop this injustice.

God! this man is insane.. how can we have politicians lacking even basic knowledge of their portfolio? The man has literally been kept alive by doctors over the last decade, and this is how he decides to show his gratitude?! And where have all the young guns of indian politics suddenly disappeared? I'm talking about people like jyotirao scindia, sachin pilot, rahul gandhi etc. Are they content with surfacing only on non contentious issues and appearing on magazine covers because of their lifestyles? Karan thapar.. brilliant interview!

I don't see any wany that the Dream of our honerable President is going to complete we are stuck in the fihgt of vote. Politicions and Parties are winning and rest everybody is loosing. Tell them go ahead and check the records of every engineering college and see how much percentage of students having backlog are OBC abd SC's and ST's. There are seats that are already left vacant during admissions which are reserved for OBC's , Sc's and ST's.
I feel Pity about everything today including mymself.. I feel pity taht i can just only sit and post a comment and can't do anything..
Things needs to be changed and if we are going to leave things on politicions then nothing good can happen.
Lets keep our fingres crossed and prepare to send our childrens to Abroad for higher studies becauses now ther is no seat vacant for an average guy who is not in OBC , SC and ST.
Oh God Help us and help future of country on which I'm very proud.

If this is the level of knowledge, understanding, priority and empathy our leaders show even in an interview, then god alone knows what agendas and ends are hidden deep within.
An even scarier thought, what if this is genuinely out of a desire to do good? No wonder half-baked decisions abound :-( Maybe there should be an entrance test , psychometric test, aptitude test & personal interview before selection to parliament. But then there will be 'reservations' there too.

wat a jerk...i knew tat a 'Congress Govt' would be a total wreck for this country...guess now apart from communal riots we gonna be havin riots in colleges due to ur caste (intra-religion)!! tats great...Congress a personification of British - DIVIDE AND CONQUER..
This is just a tactic to appease the backward sections..jus to increase their votebanks...they giv a damn to which part of the society rises and who falls!
Wat good is a minister and the damn parliament of his...who don't hav figures to support their decisions and even after providin them the figures...don hav the logic to put 2 and 2 together...
I AM ASHAMED TO BE AN INDIAN THIS DAY!! LET MY WORDS REACH THE EARS OF ALL THOSE CRAPPY POLITICIANS WHO TALK AND BOAST OF MODERN INDIA!!
Only if i had the oppurtunity...i would repeat Nathuram Godse!

This shows the hypocrisy of the minister as well as the Government.he seems so clueless of everything, still he wants to pass the bill just for the sake of doing it and gathering votes for his party. We as a student should come up in large number in support of medical students,as they seem all alone in protest against the bill. let us not allow these politicians to divide we INDIANS on basis of caste and creed.let us remain united till the end

I dont really know wat would happen 3 months from now about this reservations controversy 'cause we Indians are known to forget things after sometime. We forget the carnage in Gujrat and move along in Life, we WILL forget wat has happened to our students. I Dont really know how can i personally help the whole movement to b alive long enough so that we can get this governmet to rethink its decision. This has been the greatest mass movement of students till date that i have ever seen and i really happy and proud.I will join every rally that happens in B'lore and will do what ever i can to b a part of this great movement.
