This goes along to say, that the big old guy is sitting on a portfolio, which he does not know anything about. All decisions are taken by someone else. All statistics are provided by someone else. He is just sitting there chewing on the cud. while honest tax paying citizens, work through the day and night to pay for his clothes, food n' shelter, expensive cars and security and see their own children suffer to get proper education. Better ways to handle this is to offer subsidised loans to SC/SCT for studies and allow admissions based on thier merit. Like a modern society, where everyone is equal. Don't tell us that we are paying and living in a country, where our own system treats us like aliens. No wonder we are running off to foriegn lands, where if not for anything we can live a life of dignity and equality.

"Let all of us prosper"
It is time all Indians wake up and do something to improve the image of the Country. We are in the "Developing" status for quite long and it is time to get into the "Developed" Status.

Well, quite evidently,Mr.Arjun Singh, contrary to his name, neither have definite answers nor does he have a defined target. Now I think the reservation should start at a very basic level like schooling rather than implementing at that point where merit matters. The point that i dont understand is why does the seats have to remain unfilled??why cant the govt see the remaining seats n fill them up by the order of merit??inspite of framing the world's best constitution,India(ns) have failed to put it to the best use.Dr.B.R.Ambedkar had introduced the reservation concept because of the then contemporary reasons.i dont see any point in extending it this long and its very much disgusting that our politicians do not possess the discerning capabilities!!

Is this led by Mr Arjun Singh? Is he really a leader? I guess, a leader ought to be aware of the work in his/her hand. He doesn't seem to know much about the reservation??? Where is it applicable? What are its consequences?? To quote him, "What do you mean by college seats?" and further, "Well, I don't know I have not come across that so far." And similar attitude/arrogance, he continues! At least one more thing, which shocked me, was him saying, "I have said what I had to say and the point is that that is not an issue for us to now debate." Oh, come on Mr Arjun Singh, give a break! Were we supposed to come and have a debate on this matter with you lot in the Parliament? And I don't understand one thing: if this decision was "almost with rare unanimity", then it must be a cliche for you MPs to explain the reasons. We would certainly lose the debate! Then why are you avoiding it??? ... I won't write further as it has been mentioned, 'Do not use ethnic slurs, engage in personal insults or use objectionable language.' Thank you, Mr Arjun Singh, but I guess YOUR TERM IS OVER, now, if not as a politician, at least as a human!!!

50% reservation, 100% politices. Yesterday on TV, answering a question of TV journlist regarding the prospect of reservation in sports, a senior member of parliament branding the question as absurd. I fail to understand what is more absurd, reservation for becoming a doctor on who make life and death decisions or reservation in sports ???

The game played by Mr. Arjun Singh is realy a sign of bulshit politics, whrein he is not at all interested in the cause for change but most interested in the gain of vote Bank by making a sacrifice of merit & justice.
Along with this the entire cabinet of Miniters is to be held responsible for what all is happening . Overlooing of the facts has become general phenomenon in this country, no body is ready to see the worst like in the decisons think of the vote banks and let the country Ruin.
Mr. Prime Minister please be awaken now , dont let the country be ruined like this . Remember the condition of V.P singh, the person is hardly finding place for himself . Nowhere is he seen in the present scenerio, dont let this happen with you .
Be a role modle Asardaar SARDAR , dont be a modle that is BEKAAR.
Let us all fight for the cause and let this movement initiated by the Medicos turned into a mass Movemement. Keep on mailing ,Send SMS, make protest , jam the roads , do everything that is possible and save the future of this country.

i would like to say that was a wonderful interview. The minister was not able to answer the questions asked by karan thapar. This is to tell the ministers that we will not give up. We will fight till the end. This particular resevrvation would not take us anywhere. We should believe in equality in each and every field be it education or anything else.

Brilliant Interview Karan... One thing is clear from this interview, that the person(Mr Singh) who has taken this decision is not at all aware of whom he is going to serve and whether it will really serve the nation or not. I don't think our political leaders really want to serve the country, rather they are always behind to save their postion. Mr. Singh, our country is not going to grow without talent. Reservation will just increase the number of candidates in the institutes but is not going to increase the number on the international level. Don't play with the future of the new generation. If young generation is supposed to be the supporting pillars, people like you only are trying to weaken our base. And on the top of it without knowing the valid reason to implement the reservation, he is behind reservation. Even Jawaharlal Nehru's words was "I dislike any kind of reservation" and "help should be given on economic consideration and not on caste". Being a part of Congress Committee, people are not respecting his word. Please put your efforts for the upliftment of the nation and not to degrade the nation.
