You can all take part in the anti-reservation protest. I thought you might wish to be a part of www.youth4equality.org I have already joined it.

this is bullshit. why donot they pass women bill if they want to uplift the backward society. this is totally political agenda. they should agree for commission for assessing quota.

This interview clearly shows how OPEN the government which is BY THE PEOPLE and the ministers who are FOR THE PEOPLE are to the people. Equality isnt shown to everyone. Just because I am not in an OBC or an SC/ST, I have to study out of my skin just to make sure that wahatever of the seats are left, I can get them whereas there is alerady a reservation for some people. I am an Indian and have nothing against any of my fellow OBC friends, The future of India does not need to be decided on reservations. It should be on merit. If the requests of so many millions are not heard, who is making decisions for them then ? If the government is still THINKING / WORKING on things, then why take a decision on reservation first and then work around it. Rather, tell the government to complete the whole THINKING/WORKING process and then take a decision. I am surprised why the government takes this as a solution too. There is a need to act this time, not by the ministers, whose expertise and thinking is pretty evident in this interview, rather its time for the people to act and the PM HAS TO LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE OF INDIA.

This interview has exposed the shallowness os our HRD Minister. He does not know anything not only about his portfolio but also about his own country and its people. My heartfelt sympathies are with Karan Thapar who amost banged his head on a wall. No need to say more since the interview says it all.

Govt. has to implement the Reservation quota for poor people who intended to learn but they can't because lack of money. Reservation policy will have to be changed. Caste reservation make the gap between various caste. I am not supporting this reservation. this govt. can't make India brighter by taking this type of decision.

Reservation should be based on the economic status of people, not the labels they stick on their foreheads. Haryana and UP have millionaire SC/ST people. I wish I was one of them.
Govt. is corrupt; should be fired!

I think Hon'ble Minister for HRD, Mr. Arjun Singh with his precarious health conditions, should be left to the mercy of the quota based unmeritorious doctors rather than the best of lot.

My parents came up in life through hard struggle, jno reseust like people of upper caste do.I worked hard and did well at studies. In Delhi nobody knew what my caste was- nobody cared to find it. and thanks to the Mandal and the likes, people were doubting my parents' capabilities, my capabilities, begining to ask my caste and what not.. the mandal did more harm than anything.. If you really want to remove caste system uplift the backward classes do something positive about the horrible things (murder etc) that happen in the name of caste in bihar and UP. Start at the base - priamry education. if you can make the base strong, the fundamentals solid, you wont need the reservation for them at higher education. If you claim that these OBCs cant afford tuitions or coaching, make sure you provide them with that! this seems like a basic common sense to me, but then ministers of the like of Arjun dont have common sense at all!!!! And unfortunately thanks to Mandal and co. we have to hear the comments that all obcs and sc st people are dumb. As a last thing - how about having quota in Politics in cabinet and assembly? will arjun singh give up his "kursi" in favor of an obc??!!
