Jyoti Excellent interview taken by Karan Thapar. Mr Arjun Singh has no answers and it seems he is not even aware of what is happening. Its just a mere show off when they go to meet the students, but the ministers are definitely not concerned about the future of the young people. Education should be on Merit and not caste...

Savitri Highly irresponsible person and it shows the bankruptcy of mind of politicians

VIKRANT SURI The policy which the government has adopted is just to appease the minorty vote bank. This kind of a step would lead to a death of meritocrcy in the country and and lead to frustatutions and anger among the youth. Moreover this kind of steps would just help to widen the gap b/w different clases rather than bridging it. What actually should be done according to me is issuing of minority card, two for full time education and two for employment to each SC STor OBC family.Once two members of a family get good full time education and employment the family may no longer be described as under privleged and would be shifted to general category.15 to 20 yaers forth this would would make india aplace where no one would be termed as underpriveleged. But to take such an initiative our leaders would have to rise above theier worries for votes seats and portfoliosoir the majority class would have no choice but to show them their power.

Pankaj Pandey Need not to comment anything, Union govt itself looks like a bad comment on India, Indian Education systems, Democracy, and I doub't!!! are they really bothered about India as a country or they are just concerned about few communities to use them as there vote bank till they are alive(Ministers).

I am sorry to say but It would have been much better If the govt would have done something to promote research or to first fill the vacant positions in IITs/IIMs or have looked at our crawling judiciary system due to shoratge to Judges.

Govt. has lot else to do for the better future of country rather than imposing reservations to spoil the education system and force the brain to get drained.

Venky I simply do not understand how Mr. Arjun Singh could become a minister. He does not have an answer to even a single question. He/Parliament(according to him) is least concerned about the interests of the people. How does the government think that our nation can progress when deserving candidates are robbed of their opportunities by the undeserving reservation candidates? Infact, we should bring in some law where in the President should be empowered to reject the bill when large sections of the nation are against such bills.

gautam I think our political fraternity has lost its brain in implementing the reservation issues. I time will come when India will realise the fault of democracy. Some body righty said, a democracy in a poor and illiterate county is curse for the country. The counrty is ruled by fools, goons (polished and unpolished). Nothin more to say.
I request mr. singh to try to first remove caste system in India. The first step may be to abolish sur names in Indian society. Mr. singh, please you first forego your sir name, we all are willing to do. It could be good move appreciated by every intellectual, not such move of reservation as suggested and implemented by you.

vivek singh Down with the counstitution of India. it gives the "general class " a "second class citizen"
status.
Lagisture has hijacked the institution of demodracy in INDIA and judicary is "helpless".after all it does not have eyes

Parth I will not blame arjun singh for this. It's his congress blood that is responsible for all this division policy. They (congress) consider them as secular. So they should first know the meaning of secular. Just for the vote bank they are playing this caste politics since long and this case is no different.
In times when policies has to be framed for positive growth and development. Arjun singh is duryodhan for lots of students of general category. He is in true sense Human Resource Division minister.

nakul Well one of the best interview ever to show how our ministers take a decision without taking a look around and when critics questions them the diplomatic answer 'thats into consideration' or 'its not appropriate to comment' always ready divert the responsibility. But does anyone think anything is gonna change due to it xcept for having few more discussions on this topic. I mean it that our ministers have become so much insensitive to protests or questioning, that no matter how much we try to proove them wrong or show them their fallacy, they dont care and are not touched by the effect of their decisions as in anycase they wont be the one who would be affected.

Ruchi Chauhan Its our "Proud Indian's" mistake to select such leaders who takes decision without considering any facts, just to fill there vote banks. When future of the country "youth" is on hunger strike, politicians are busy with their election campaign, it shows mere negligence. I am sorry to say but we have not chosen leaders who are wise enough to take decisions. Are we moving away from democracy? Its time for us to wake up & stand for ourselves. Let's join our country's youth & give them full hearted support
