Hollywood (California): Mind-body guru, Deepak Chopra is setting his eyes on Hollywood.
His book Soulmate, an other- worldly love triangle is being developed into a screenplay by Hollywood writer Kamran Pasha.
Babu Subramaniam, a well-known director of American television serials will direct the film.
Chopra will have an active involvement in this project as the film's executive producer.
"He's very interested in the process and very active in the writing phase," Subramaniam said about Chopra.
Subramaniam has directed popular American serials such as ER, One Tree Hill and Second Watch and this is his first foray into feature films.
One of the reasons he wanted to direct Soulmate was because it had touches of magic realism and intriguing casting possibilities.
"It allowed a tremendous opportunity to explore options - high-profile Hollywood talent and make the movie," Babu Subramaniam said.
The shooting is scheduled for October this year and the setting will be in New York during the Christmas season.
So Chopra gets involved in a project that's part of the trend of a new age of filmmaking where Bollywood and Hollywood stars meet.
