New Delhi: Every dog has its day and Saturday was most definitely Toto's. Delhi Police Commissioner Y P Dadhwal's pet, the 12-year-old Daschund, had been missing from his Satya Marg residence since Wednesday.
After a massive dog-hunt by Delhi Police, the missing canine is finally back where he belongs.
“We got a call from Lodhi Road at around 7.30 pm yesterday about an ill dog who had also been hurt. So we sent our van and we brought it back here by 8. We gave him glucose,” dog rehabilitation organisation Friendicoes emplyee Bhupinder says.
The cops left no stone unturned to find the missing dog. Handbills declaring a 10,000-rupee award were distributed in the neighbourhood.
While who’s won the award isn’t clear yet, but there are enough people claiming credit.
“There were more than 30 policemen — SHO of Nizamuddin, Chanakyapuri — all were here,” Friendicoes employee Amit says. “Even human beings are not valued so much.”
It's a dog's life they say but for VIP dog Toto, the going was much simpler. Within three days of him going missing, he's back in the comforts of his home.
