MORE IS LESS: Sumeet Nair has finally come out with a list of designers for his Delhi Fashion Week that kickstarts on October 14.
New Delhi: Just when you thought the fashion fever was over with Mumbai Couture week wrapping up, the Capital's all set to witness another addition to the yearly fashion line up.
The godfather of Indian fashion weeks Sumeet Nair has finally come out with a list of designers for his Delhi Fashion Week that kickstarts on October 14.
“It’s not a divide but just another fashion event,” Sumeet says.
The newly formed fashion foundation of India that's backing the Delhi Fashion Week does have an interesting mix of veterans and new sparks — from fashion czars, Tarun Tahiliani and Rohit Bal to the young guns Varun Sardana and Gaurav Gupta.
However, With the FDCI's Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week also taking place simultaneously, will it eat into Delhi Fashion Week's trade pie?
“There are multiple events which are happening simultaneously. That happens,” Sumeet says.
As if the bling wasn't enough, there are multiple fashion weeks to confuse the poor buyer. Some, however, disagree. Sumeet says it’s great for the buyers.
But what does this spell for the designers?
“I don’t know but change is good,” says Malini, a designer.
Others are just happy to be noticed.
“I am glad that I am not lost” says designer, Vineet.
Now, we don't know about the buyers or the designers but all we know is that the fellow journalists will need a lot to recover from the constant fashion fatigue with two fashion weeks on at a go.
