SWING STATE: Colorado is a Republican stronghold but Indian-Americans are bending towards Obama.
Denver (Colorado): Little India is a popular restaurant in Denver and on the menu these days is talk about the Democratic National Convention that is taking place in the city and the Presidential elections.
An independent, Paul Mathews says, "Between Indian-Americans, when we talk about the elections, more often than not the fact that the Democratic National Convention is here comes around and then there's always discussions about politics because the Democratic National Convention is here."
Among the newly-enthused are those who have just become citizens and plan on voting for the first time.
Balaji Ramanathan is one such man and he says, "I want to really go to register. I've heard about people registering for a particular party or an Independent. So this has generated a lot of interest."
A Barack Obama supporter, Ivy George adds, "We live here so we are pretty enthusiastic about the election and kind of anxious to see who is going to take the seat."
A walk anywhere in Denver shows how the city's residents are drawn to the Democratic National Convention.
Indian-Americans are certainly trending towards Barack Obama. While Colorado has been a Republican stronghold in recent years, this year it will prove to be a swing state.
