Agra: Efforts are on to rescue a child who has fallen into a bore well in Agra. The incident is similar to that of a little boy named Prince, who had fallen into a borewell and had been rescued after marathon efforts.

This time, a two-year-old boy named Sonu fell into a 150 feet bore well in a village in Agra on Thursday morning.

A massive effort is on to rescue him amidst apprehension that the bore well is too narrow. The opening of the well is just one foot wide in diameter, making it impossible for an adult to go down and get him. Also, there are fears that water might seep into it from a nearby pond.

Police and local authorities have been working through the night to get to him, digging a parallel well.

Rescuers admit that manouevering is becoming extremely tough. The pressure to get the child out in time is building up as it is 24 hours since the boy fell in.

In a similar case in Agra district, 2-year old Vandana had also fallen down an open bore well and was rescued after a day long operation.
