Mumbai: Taking a cue from his film Halla Bol, Bollywood star Ajay Devgan has decided it's time to speak up.
The actor has joined the cause of his fellow Juhu residents in protesting against the political interference that he says is stalling the development project in the area, which could once again result in major water logging once the monsoons reach the city.
Juhu was one of the worst affected parts in Mumbai during the deluge on July 26, 2005.
Devgan knows he can bring some attention to the issue with his star power and sees nothing wrong in doing so.
“I think that even an animal makes a noise when it is troubled, and we are human. And I am a part of this area. If anyone has a problem, they should raise their voice,” he said.
Fellow Juhu resident Amitabh Bachchan has addressed the issue on his Internet blog. And Devgan is hopeful the Big B will lend his support to the cause, having himself suffered much property damage in the same deluge.
“Even he had to encounter a lot of problems during the deluge. I’m sure if someone approaches him he will stand for the cause,” he stated.
